KAC SR-15 MOD2 Sand Dump Test

Anybody run their AR's or rifle through any sort of stress test? Have a look at this test done to a KAC SR-15 MOD2, running it through sand and shooting it without cleaning. Think Ballistic Radio ran 15,000 rounds through the gun and it still works like a charm. Have a look at the video here.

There’s a U-Tube video of a AR-15 vrs a AK-47 doing consecutive magazine dumps. The AK failed after ~250 rounds. The AR-15 lasted through 865 rounds. The tester was an AK fan and very disappointed.....

I’d be curious to see who the manufacturers of the guns were.

I noticed that he was careful to make sure the dust cover was closed before each sand dump.

I meant the AK vs AR video. In any case notice that the dust cover is always closed and a magazine is inserted before he pours sand on the rifle. So I really don’t see what this test is supposed to be proving. He could pour ten bags on it and claim it as a mega extreme torture test +1 and it wouldn’t change anything. Sand isn’t good for precision rifles so keep it out of the moving parts whenever possible.

Yep, if he had left the dust cover opee, he would have gotten one shot off and it would have jammed up so hard it would take over an hour of cleaning before it would shoot again.

Thanks, Iraqveteran8888 has good videos. The Russian AKs (from the Izhmash factory) are definitely better than the cheap parts kit he melted in that video. But it was interesting that they banged it on a tree to straighten the barrel and got it running again! I like both ARs and AKs.
