It takes 113 hours ONLY if you live at one end of the route of the other end of the route.

Considering that most people have to get back where they started, a longer but more circular route would be preferable.

I wouldn’t exactly call that “through” the 48.

One the way back, it’d be more fun to take in the quirky sights.

Yeah, but a REAL route through the US would include Tucson, Tucumcari, Tehachapi, and Tonopah.

Can you stop at Wally World on the way?

Portland, Oregon: World’s Smallest Park
Officially designated as a city park in 1948, all 452 square inches of it. Awarded Guinness recognition in 1971. - See more at: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/6065#sthash.IaJinDFR.dpuf

I would go for a trip to the craziest roadside tourist attraction in each state.

But some states it would hard to choose just one.

You could spend a month on Route 66.

Just grab one of these devices and line it up between the two points on the map that you wish to travel between.

I guess, if you consider touching the territory of a state at the border for a few minutes before turning into another one as driving “through” that state...

Actually, it should include Amarillo,
Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona
Don't forget Winona
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

The point of this thread is there are 48 areas one wishes to travel between in minimal distance.
