Weâve seen the bumper stickers saying âIf you are reading this thank a teacherâ; but the better one says, âIf you are reading this thank a teacher; but if you are reading this in English thank a veteran.â
The wisdom in this simple statement is profound. As a young Marine recruit I often heard, âPrivate if it wasnât for the Marine Corps youâd be speaking Japanese.â Yet the accomplishments of the Marine Corps are just a portion of the rich heritage of the United States Military.
Itâs always been brave veterans with guns, not liberals with white flags that have secured our freedoms.
Today we see only a very small number young of men and women stepping forward to serve and save our country in these very dangerous times. They will become the veterans of the next generations; and this is why we must thank them and those who have served before them. . They will come home to us with scars on the bodies minds and hearts so they deserve all the very best we can give them. Veterans have saved us from the most dangerous enemies we have ever faced.
Unlike those in the past, todayâs enemies do not want to take what we have, they want to murder every last one of us because they have zero regard for human life. Todayâs military â those who will be the nationâs veterans of the future...
