Billionaire Says Socialism Needed to Stem Climate Disaster [semi-satire]

Microsoft multi-billionaire Bill Gates averred that freedom and democracy will need to be sacrificed if we are to avert climate disaster. "Left to their own devices, common people don’t see the need for action to prevent global warming," Gates lamented. "They are too prone to place having a job, food on the table, and a comfortable home ahead of working against global warming."

Gates advised "a top down imposition of socialism to overcome individual resistance to the measures deemed essential for taming runaway climate change. Only socialism can stifle prosperity sufficiently to achieve the reductions in human activities that contribute to warming. The elimination of conveniences like electricity, running water, and personal transportation for all but the world’s most important persons is the price our species must be willing to pay to save the planet. History has shown that socialist regimes are the most effective at attaining the type of economy required to shrink the human footprint."

In support of his argument, Gates pointed to socialist Venezuela as a preview of what is possible. "It is in Venezuela that a pack of french fries at McDonald’s now costs $130," Gates observed. "This will dramatically cut back consumption. No free market capitalistic system could achieve as much in so short a period of time. It is only by bringing an end to widely available and inexpensive consumer goods and services that we can save the Earth. For this socialism is essential."

If serious, Gates need to share his home and his wealth for the greater good. But I bet he has no intention of doing so. He meant the peasants should share among themselves.

Socialists believe that the only reason socialism fails is because the wrong person is in charge. So, how do socialists intend to select the correct person to lead them to the perfect world. [You can transpose communism for socialism and get the same answer.] But, this has always baffled me. What are the perfect characteristics necessary for a socialist leader to succeed?

In a related story, Madonna is staying in the UK to escape the porn-centered youth media of the United States.

what a two-faced bigot.

makes his money off capitalism, then tries to convince the world it is wrong and go communist.

But of course, he does not give up his wealth, which is true socialism.

My dream would be to see socialism eradicated from the fabric of this country.

But I know. ....keep dreaming.

A privileged, ruling elite has always been part and parcel of socialism.

Years ago, Dr. Gary North predicted that the radical left would capture America with the insane and human nature denying goal of “transforming” it into an egalitarian unicorn and rainbow Utopia by “capturing the ROBES”. By that, he meant those institutions we granted various levels of authority over us and our affairs: The clergy, the judges... and the ACADEMICS.

The roots of the problems in academia flow back to something referred to as the Frankfurt School and their 1935 move to COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY and the spread of Marxist thought (now there’s an oxymoron for ya’!) into every area of learning here.

A prime example of the rot now endemic in the academy is the COLUMBIA SCHOOL OF “JOURNALISM”. It is THE premier center for spreading Marxism here in America and it has been incredibly successful in its destruction of traditional and American values. Not only do its direct graduates permeate the media here, but many of them also double as teachers in lesser known institutions of media instruction. Herein lies the genesis of Limbaugh’s descriptive expression “Driveby Media”. Now you know why virtually every so-called “journalist” HATES folks like us.

The wikipedia entry says that the “...FRANKFURT SCHOOL was founded in 1923 by Carl Grünberg, a Marxist legal and political professor at the University of Vienna,[10] as an adjunct of the University of Frankfurt; it was the first Marxist-oriented research center affiliated with a major German university.[3] However, the school can trace its earliest roots back to Felix Weil, who used money from his father’s grain business to finance the Institut. “

Isn’t it fascinating that here is an early instance of a Marxist ANTI-CAPITALIST organization financing itself with the hated PROFITS of a capitalist business? The hypocrisy is mind-boggling.

More recent examples of that dichotomy would be the offspring of John D. Rockefeller who have largely spent their lives promoting socialism (using other people’s money, of course). And recently Bill Gates treated us to the wisdom that only SOCIALISM can solve the woes of this world. What these folks refuse to acknowledge that even THEY do not possess sufficient personal wealth to make a dent in those woes if the recipients of that largess are incapable of sustaining themselves once the largess stops flowing or is exhausted.

If one examines the life of Karl Marx, we find a bum who abandoned his wife and family to advance the socialist struggle and never worked or dirtied his hands at day in his life. That sort of thing was for the bourgeoisie, not such an exalted personage as himself. His guilt over that abandonment probably explains Karl’s fondness for state welfare paid for by the labor of others so that his abandoned family wouldn’t perish (not that a mensch like Karl gave a rat’s ass).
