I respect your intentions in saying that, but I don't see how the cops are "stifling" anyone's rights. A boycott is not stifling, it's a time-honored non-violent response.People should boycott if they wish, that is their right of self-expression.

I wasn’t going to see it anyway. Is that violating his First Amendment rights too?

....and everything to do with ours. Boycotting is “speech” without words.

Hard to boycott somebody when I’ve never watched any of his movies with no intention of doing so.

Right. Our not seeing a movie or listening to him has nothing to do with HIS 1st amendment rights.
If he really wanted to exercise his free speech, he could make his movies free. Not much chance of that.
The logical extension of his argument would have to be that if his 1st rights were violated, which they are not, he is perhaps due compensation. The only way he could collect is forcing people to watch his crap.

Excuse me? The First Amendment is about GOVERNMENT restricting speech.
Where, exactly, are his free speech rights being taken away by the government here?
To: Sean_Anthony
Consider your 1st amendment rights violated. I'll never watch another one of your movies.
To: Sean_Anthony
Well what about my first amendment right not to see it you ugly bastard

Quentin is free to be an idiot and spout any tripe he wants. . . as long as it doesn't incite violence and murder as many of the BLM flunkies do.
I'm also free to choose Leave It to Beaver reruns over his stupid films. There are some great family lessons taught in LITB. Quentin's films, not so much.

In my post #19, I argued that you were being unfair to the police union. Well, it turns out that you are correct after all.
From the Rolling Stone link at the bottom of my post:
Quentin Tarantino should expect a big "surprise" from the Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union's executive director, Jim Pasco, told The Hollywood Reporter.
When a group with great power threatens you with a "surprise", that is over the line, way over the line. Disgusting, actually. So it looks like there are no good guys here.

I can’t abide Tarantino or his movies but I agree with you - the cop unions are, in my opinion, far more dangerous to our liberties than any movie.
