Stirring myself to the right words after One of Those Tragedies always takes a while. First, there’s the dragged-down feeling of “here we go again.” The antis rush gleefully on stage to perform their blood dances and once again, decent people need to respond to them, if for no other reason than to keep the record straight.
We can’t even stop to speak with decency and sympathy for the horrible losses because to speak at all is to become political. And that’s obscene.
Mass murders, whether by bomb or knife or vehicle or poison, are horrific individual tragedies. But mass murders by firearm result in a dreary sameness.
Except this time.

The part that's the most obscene to me, is how quickly the progressive liberals rush to stand on the still warm bodies of those who've been murdered by some whack-job on psychotropic drugs who managed to get a gun. In almost every case we've seen in the past 10-20 years, the guns used were legally acquired and typically by someone in the whack-job's family, who then, knowing they had a relative that was looney-tunes, failed to secure their weapons properly.
Once again, Guns are NOT the problem. Whack-jobs on powerful psychotropic drugs are. Been proven over, and over, and over again.
Want to stop the gun violence, it's simple: First, ban all psychotropic drugs. Second, eliminate gun free zones.
Yes, it's that simple.
Republicans should be going hell’s bells after the gun-free zones. Then they should be talking about repealing most of the major gun legislation of the last century, like the 1968 Gun Control Act. Where are you, GOP?
So far, only Trump is doing it. Didn't Trump say something the other day about a nationwide conceal/carry and passing a law that would ELIMINATE gun free zones?
He earned my vote with that statement. I'm on board with the Donald at this point. The rest of the republican field can kiss my lilly white ass.
