RedState's Erick Erickson and Leon H Wolf also supported amnesty like Trump

Posted on 07/22/2015 11:52:35 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

Trump wasn't that involved in politics and certainly not in congress when he said hipster things about immigration reform. Wolf and Erickson were already schooled on it and still pushed it.

Trump never fired someone for holding "rightwing views". Leon Wolf did which is why Daniel Horowitz posts on the much better Conservative Review.

Erickson also defended Liz Mair Walker's fired feminazi amnesty pusher.

"I think the Tom Tancredo days within the party are over," says conservative radio host Erick Erickson, who also runs the blog RedState, "if only because of the shell-shock results of 2012 that the base has had to suffer through."

Erickson says this time around many groups that were previously against an immigration overhaul have changed their minds — such as "some of the local Chambers of Commerce that have been suspicious in the past, some of the Tea Party groups."

". A poor example of that would be this piece by my colleague Daniel Horowitz which addresses at least arguably a real issue, but cloaked in so much rhetoric that rises immediately to the level of 11 that it gives the very clear impression that Central American kids who cross the border without their parents should be left to starve. Calling supporters of immigration reform by Spanish names as an insult as some did a la “Jorge Arbusto” or “Juan McCain” is – let’s say less than helpful insensitivity at best and a “tell” of pretty strong racial biases at worst. I think we call these types of posts a vanity... But could be wrong, I guess.

Erick Erickson is a not terribly stalwart Southerner who occasionally says funny outrageous things but is hopeless on culture

Really he’s southern only by geography of birth I think

Goofy like Beck

And kinda Martin King PC when the mood strikes

No Tks

I don't think there's anyway you really get around the fact that Trump isn't a dyed in the wool conservative. Wouldn't say he's a conservative in name only. The sad reality is that the ‘mainstream’ conservative views have skewed so far to the left as his views are now considered right wing extremist.

Is Trump going to deputize possies to go out and deport illegals? No. Do I expect some numbskull who lets an illegal felon go to be called out on the carpet? Absolutely.

Do I expect Trump to only nominate SCOTUS justices based upon overturning that awful decision of Rowe v Wade? No. Do I expect him to pick some pretty smart people who would actually consider the constitution in their decisions? Yes, I do. Do I expect him to nominate some buddies for various cabinet posts? Yes. Do I expect him to demand that they actually do the job they were hired for? Yes.

You know, compared to the guy running ICE who told congress that until congress passes comprehensive immigration reform (codeword: Amnesty for everyone!), that they won't bother deporting illegals...

I'd love Cruz to win the presidency. But I certainly wouldn't object to Trump winning. Compared to the people who brought us such wonderful things as Homeland Security, shoe inspections, mandatory ID to fly in a plane, but no id to vote, and the rest of the nonsense, I think he could easily handle the job. Will I always agree with him? No. Will I likely agree with him more often than anyone since Reagan? Probably.

The media has determined certain standards that presidential candidates must meet - an Ivy league education, a long career without a real job, and a strong track record of running whenever the media brings up any issue. We've tried nominating based upon the media's standards; maybe, just maybe, it's time we start doing something just a little different.

so much confusion. illegal immigration is a pretty clearcut wrong to me. it’s not a trifling wrong. it’s a—put your soul in mortal peril—kind of wrong. i would argue thusly:

God ordained the division and dispersion of humanity, for general welfare of the same, into nations with differing languages and thus cultures. the untold misery illegals create in our country is a prime example of why God caused this separation.

borders are thus God’s will.

thus, those who violate borders are on the wrong side of God, let alone the law. thus illegal aliens and their families will not, cannot ultimately prosper in America, no matter how much short term success they may achieve. the initial sin of illegal immigration will hound such people and their families down the generations.

thus, they cannot ultimately profit from stealing the birth right of another nation. and they will actually suffer from it, and their children will suffer from it.

as a sinner myself, i would warn myself to first recognize God’s will and obey it. stay at home and work to make the best life i could in my home country. but if i’d already committed the sin violating a border, i’d ask forgiveness and atone by going home with my family at the first opportunity and then either stick it out there where God had put me, or pray God to help me to come across the border lawfully someday.

as for those in our nation enabling this stumbling block, knowingly drawing hapless and criminal illegals into our own country, i wouldn’t want to be in their shoes come judgement day. but having said that, i understand their evil motivations with crystal clarity.

Erickson is a weasel. Limbaugh needs drop him off the fill-in lineup... I can’t stand more than 5 minutes of him.

You’re right.

And it’s time to start nudging the nation back in line.

We’re not going to win by electing more RINOs who flip on us the moment they get into office.

If we can get an honest, economically conservative in office, we’ll do better. It’ll be a great step in the right direction and we might get the opportunity to show that conservative principles do work.

This is why it’s so important that Jeb doesn’t get in. He’s just a Leftist Lite. Same for Bush. So when crony capitalism fails, the public says, “See! Conservationism fails!”

That’s NOT conservationism, darn it. That’s not even capitalism.

I support immigration reform but only after every criminal in the 0bama regime (Lois Lerner, Cass Sunstein, etc.) has completed a ten year prison sentence. Then we can begin the debate.

I agree. To me, he’s relatively new on the southern politics scene. There are some flashes of conservatism sometimes, but there are also the things you cite.
