- Greek capital controls also prevent access to contents of safe deposit boxes - Restrictions on safe deposit access doesnt protect banking system unless contents confiscated - Readers should heed warnings by Marc Faber and Ian Spreadbury of Fidelity - Important to own assets outside banking system and not in bank safe deposit boxes - Own physical bullion in private safety deposit boxes and the safest private vaults
Capital controls have been in place in Greece since the start of the month to protect the banks from mass withdrawals by nervous Greeks. They have rightly been concerned about their savings, the collapse of the banking system and the loss of their savings in deposit confiscations or bail-ins.

The endpoint of chronically consuming more than you produce as a nation is bankruptcy and miserable poverty. It is not a pretty sight. Oh by the way there will be a price Americans will pay for an $18 trillion Federal debt, printing of trillions more, $10 trillion in state and local debts, $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities. It won’t be pretty either.
If one has precious metals I can think of a lot better place to keep them than a bank.
One of the main reason to have them is a hedge against monetary collapse and the banks are part of that system.
THIS is why I got rid of the safety deposit box. Way too little control over contents.
A big price!
That is why I never had one i lost all my guns coins and such in a boating accident
Last week it was reported that the money for the ATMs was being lifted from the Safety Deposit Boxes.
The problem with that reasoning is that the people who are losing their assets are those who were responsible and did save. They're losing that because of a government that borrowed money it couldn't pay back and used it to fund programs that aren't sensible. Sound familiar?
Seems to me the people who should be losing everything are the bankers.
not good coming here soon
If they try that here, there will be blood.
Well they steal half of our money already in taxes and nobody even flenches.
You're gonna have to take away their cell phones, TV's and video games to draw blood. Just sayin.
Bull crap. If real Americans haven’t started taking out the trash by now, I highly doubt it’ll ever happen. Those that would aren’t standing up.
Then Place along side the "gold ingots" in the safety deposit box a Picture of me flipping the bird to camera with a note attached to picture that says "screw you feds".....
Either that or a picture of this:
Consider it a a very practical targeted time-released joke in the days to come...
it could not afford in 2008 and indeed to join the monetary union. Indeed it is alleged the Draghi himself helped to cook the books.
Indeed.

What do you think backs up the faith and credit of the United States? It’s our governments ability to tax its
citizens directly. In the eyes of the federal government,
everything on American soil belongs to it, even the citizens
themselves. If need be they will confiscate every dime of
wealth, every square inch of property and force people
into work camps. E.O.’s and laws are already on the books
and in place for this.
OMG! You too?
Why have a safety deposit box if the gov’t can seize it? Not very ‘safe’ is it..

Freeper Lake is like the “lost city of El Dorado”, full of Gold and other “Valuables”, but no one can seem to pin down it’s exact location.... :)

I am tempted to get one and fill it with gold painted bricks as a giant FU when they try to take it....
Which they invariably will!
