Feminist groups National Women's Liberation and Redstockings have launched a campaign to let people know that ads about plastic surgery oppress women.

Men, apparently, are not oppressed by plastic surgery ads that target them. However, ones that target women are oppressive, according to the groups, and they want subway-goers in New York City to know.

The Huffington Post covered these pictures, with the headline, "'This Oppresses Women' Stickers Give Body-Shaming Ads The Edit They So Desperately Need:

How is that oppression?

Did the model get paid? Or not?

Since when is NOW or anybody else the arbiter of what “oppression” is?

Judging from picture one I bet it also depresses a lot of women who wish they had a butt like that one.

The ad firms are pleased to get this bonus media coverage for their clients.

Thanks Outraged Feminists!

Feminists: oppressing other women. You know, women they, the cognoscenti, believe aren’t smart enough to make their own decisions.

Yup. I saw some of these stickers on a different ad in the subway this morning. They didn’t even bother to obscure or cover the name/contact info of the company that sponsored the ad.

There was a time in this country when ads like that would not have been posted out of common decency. When this stuff happened in the movies, we were told not to go. Then to cable television, don't subscribe. Then to broadcast television. Change the channel. Now its on billboards and subway ads, and we are told to suck it up.

I suppose by some standards, First Amendment absolutists like Mark Steyn would tell me that this comes with the territory. And yet, there was a time when the First Amendment did not cover obscenity or even lawyers' and pharmaceutical advertising. It was a healthier environment then, far healthier for children.

I thought the feminists were about choice for women? Why can’t they enlarge a little here, reduce a little there?

So its liberating non oppressive and a civil right for a man to cut of his Johnson and claim to be a woman, but its oppressive and wrong and not a right for a woman to have plastic surgery and say she feels better about herself?

“Choice”? That word only applies to murdering unborn children. Feminists are all about that.

But making up your own mind how you want to look, dress, the kind of work you do, those are COLLECTIVE decisions and the feminazis are making them for you.

“This” happens to be ridiculous

“This” happens to pander to a world in which men seem incapable of finding beauty in a woman’s brains, the turn of her cheek, in smaller breasts or thicker thighs or a chubby belly...

In which little fairy men appreciate what they’re told to appreciate by (often homosexual male) marketers,

But it doesn’t oppress women.

I’m waiting for someone to create some good cartoons showing the liberal race to be the biggest victim (or victim group).
