Harwood: Carson and Rand Too Sensitive To Questioning, Cruz Isn’t

CNBC Chief Washington Correspondent and New York Times Political Writer John Harwood argued that GOP presidential candidates Dr. Ben Carson and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) are too sensitive to tough questions, while Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is better at handling tough questions in an interview set to broadcast on Tuesday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show.”

Harwood discussed an interview he did with Carson during which Carson argued that Hewitt “was so gleeful about thinking that he had caught me on something,” during a questioning on the Baltic states and NATO on Hewitt’s show back in March. After hearing the exchange between Hewitt and Carson, and his own interview with Carson, he remarked, “if he thinks that you were gleeful in trying to trip him up, that suggests to me that the defense mechanism and the instinctive aversion to the back and forth of questions is very powerful in him. And it’s not just liberal media, it’s anybody closely questioning him.” Hewitt also stated that he didn’t think that Carson know the Baltic states were in NATO....

It seems like the article was complimenting Cruz as opposed to the usual trashing. The commentator is right about both Carson and Paul. They are easy to rattle. Cruz is not.
He will keep rising in the polls as his strong character keeps shining through.

I heard Hewitt interview Carson and that was Hewitt’s attitude, not just on NATO.

Legalize as in work permits. That’s not the same as citizenship. Walker says let them pay a $100 fine and then give thme a path to citizenship. Cruz says no to cititzenship for anyone here illegally.

I know that’s not the same as citizenship, but it is 80% of the way there—and there’s no way that citizenship wouldn’t soon follow.

But I agree, he’s at least better on it than Walker. What is amazing is how the GOPe is managing to bloat the race with upwards of 20 presidential candidates—of which actually zero want to enforce our immigration laws in respect to illegals already here.

Legalization/amnesty leads to citizenship, which with the numbers and political proclivities involved would guarantee that any “conservative” candidate elected in 2016 would be the last conservative candidate elected nationally in this country.

I wonder if it’s a manifestation of the “God complex” that afflicts many doctors, which both Carson and Paul are..They’re just not used to having their their views questioned/challeneged.
