Shame, He could have invited other big businesses who had better morals into his state to conduct business, perhaps even giving them tax breaks to encourage them to move to his state and fill the welcomed hole left by the departing sin loving businesses

What the original Indiana religious freedom law did imo was to help prevent the state from violating Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (14A).
14th Amendment, Section 1:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Note that the “privileges or immunities” term which John Bingham, the main author of Section 1, used in that section is just another way to refer to constitutionally enumerated rights, most of these well-known rights, including 1st Amendment-protected freedom of religious expression, listed in the Bill of Rights.

So with or without the Indiana religious freedom law, the constitutional religious freedoms of Indiana citizens, including business owners, are protected from their state government by 14A, and therefor from people who would otherwise be customers if as customers they respected the religious convictions of business owners imo.

The problem, as we’ve been seeing in other states, is that the Constitution cannot protect citizens if citizens don’t know their constitutional protections, especially since legal counsel may not know constitutional protections any better than business owners do; the blind leading the blind.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if low-information state officials in the pro-gay activist states who have been giving Christian business owners problems are unaware that 14A exists.

Governor Pence either did not know what he was doing when he signed both versions of the bill or he is a sellout. I tend to believe it was ignorance. Either way, he and the Republican legislature have done enormous damage to the state’s constituents religious freedoms. I hope at some point he understands just how stupid this was.

If he had any leadership qualities, he would have called the NCAA’s bluff and told them they could go ahead and play their Final Four elsewhere.

ILO Convention 105 further specifies that forced labor should never be used for the purpose of economic development or as a means of political coercion, discrimination, labor discipline or punishment for having participated in strikes.

Its not clear to me that this is the case.

All the cases I have seen posted here were where the baker refused to sell the gays a wedding cake at all, giving libs the ammunition that they could similarly refuse to sell a wedding cake to mixed race couples, or serve gays in a restaurant.

Each debate on this on TV the libs brought up the mixed race wedding example to use to beat up their opponents.(and it seems to be working)

Pence abandoned this fight pretty fast, never talked about any of this.

They keep using these analogies and they are ridiculously inappropriate. Refusing to cater to homosexuals can fall under the protection of one's religious beliefs. Refusing to cater to Klansmen and Nazis does not. However, neither Klansmen or Nazis are a protected class so they can't sue for discrimination.
