The following is an answer to a January 1, 2015 op-ed in the New York Post decrying the police slow down.

Your position on the state of policing in New York City is very curious. It would appear that you are either willfully blind to the differences between the circumstances of the 1919 Boston Police Strike and the state of siege New York City is in; or you are playing the part of typical breast beater trying to win favor from the wrong people.

In the Boston case, the police struck over classic worker/employer grievances. The pay was low; the work too hard and so on. I wasn’t there and neither were you so we can’t make an informed judgment on what actually went on. You might be willing to grant that your “occupational ancestors” in the Boston media were telling the truth but I am not. Experience teaches us the media lies way too much to be accepted on face value.

Now to the New York City Police situation; in the interest of full disclosure I will tell that I am a retired NYCPD street cop who fought as an Urban Combat Soldier in the early 1970s. I worked in the 77 pct. which is adjacent to the 79 pct. where the two latest murders of innocent police officers took place.

There is virtually nothing to tie the two situations together except that which a media eager to appear oh-so-politically correct can conger up.

The Boston cops were not being murdered by assassins who fancied themselves as “liberators of Black people” or anyone else. The fate of the nation did not rest on how well the Boston cops did or did not perform their duties. By sharp contrast whether the New York City Police Department...

The writer is dead on.

I am no cop, but am behind them 100%.

NYC with no mayor would go on without problems.

NYC with no police would become Detroit.

De-pimped - here’s the entire article:

The Boston cops were not being murdered by assassins who fancied themselves as “liberators of Black people” or anyone else. The fate of the nation did not rest on how well the Boston cops did or did not perform their duties. By sharp contrast whether the New York City Police Department wins this war or not does have grave implications for the rest of America. The mayor of Boston was an enemy over the negotiating table but he was not an active collaborator with those who would destroy his city or our nation. He wasn’t siding with the cowards who shoot police officers from behind.

By your tortured logic the police should merely smolder silently as they bury their dead. This would be far more dangerous to us than their passing up an opportunity to write a parking ticket. Make no mistake; we have not seen the end of sneak attack murders of our police officers. Poorly thought through cheerleading for the police to shut up and sit down does our side in this war no good.

Silence is consent. The police are fighting to save civilization and using the best weapon they have. Your foolish talk does nothing but help de Blasio, Sharpton, Holder and Obama continue to rip America apart.

What De Blasio has done certainly rivals what Dinkins did in terms of slapping cops in the face. Back then (1992) the cops rioted in the streets, if you can believe it.

Now we simply turn our backs during a short speech and raise a little less revenue for the city's coffers. And yet we are still called the bad guys in this situation according to some.

“the cops rioted in the streets”
“Now we simply turn our backs during a short speech and raise a little less revenue for the city’s coffers”

Would be fascinating to see the police riot.

THIS JUST IN Bratton friend gets no-bid deal from police (can you say, "What's my cut?")

The NYPD is poised to issue a no-bid contract to a pal of Commissioner Bratton.......the deal with Strategic Policy Partnerships is to fulfill Bratton and Mayor de Blasio’s mandate to fix community policing in the wake of the Eric Garner case.....targeted to help high-ranking police officers mend community relations and enhance cadet training.... according to the City Record, the official publication for procurements.

The no-bid firm is headed by Bratton friend, Robert Wasserman, who was a partner in The Bratton Group--a L/E consulting firm Bratton helmed before taking NYPD’s top job last January....the two pals raked in more than $53,000 on a contract with the Baltimore Police Dept in 2013.....and as L/E consultants in Oakland, Calif, where Bratton earned $125,000.

Wasserman founded Strategic Policy Partnerships in Feb 2012. He served as a consultant during Bratton's tenure as LA's police chief 2002-2009 and when Bratton was NYPD commissioner in 1994 (under Giuliani). Wasserman's previous contract "the transition of the Bratton administration in 2014” was funded by the n/p "Police Foundation..."

But the new deal will be financed by taxpayers.

.....a pal of Commissioner Bratton is preparing to cash in big-time---there'll be tax money flowing like water ---- to supposedly "fix" community policing in the wake of Eric Garner. Revisionist high-ranking police officer and cadet training are in the money mix ....

The sub rosa plan is for insiders to cash in on DeBlabbio and Sharpton's mouthing off---creating problems for the NYPD.

That remains to be seen.

The BIG question is whether the cop unions---and Patrick Lynch of the PBA---are gonna allow cop-haters to potty-train ranking NYPD police officers.

http://www.coachisright.com/black-war-police-coming-back-life/

From link:

Blacks in America have been at war with our police for at least forty years. This war has ebbed and reignited from time to time but never really ended. The spoils of this war are far too valuable to the Democrats to ever let it end.

During the years 2011 and 2012 at least 58 police officers were killed in arrest confrontation situations. The FBI tells us 28% of the cop killers were Black which means that 13.2% of our population attacks and kills cops at a rate more than double what could be statistically expected. The pattern is clear.

During this period the Democrats and their media puppets continually portrayed police officers as brutal hateful and disrespectful toward Black people. This is part of their war.

DEmocrats aside, I have no idea how on earth the black community can continue like this.

I mean, an impending future of supporting an underclass that will do nothing but pick at the nation we live in and are proud of is enough to make anyone turn to drugs and drink for solace and this can’t continue. How on holy mother earth can this continue?

Other people in this nation want to live life, enjoy family time, enjoy a nice steady job with a healthy wider community. No way is this going to be able for another set of generations without said generations becoming hateful to a boiling point.

The only groups helped by the current race relations horror are white liberal elites and black poverty pimps. They’ll be the ones to keep it going.

Very similar to what’s happening in France... the ME “immigrants’ are brought in to provided cheap labor for the French white liberal elites. The ‘immigrants’ are played against French citizens... I suspect France’s liberal elites aren’t satisfied with 2 Rolls Royces and a villa either...
