What we are witnessing is a rejection of the rule of law and those who put their lives on the line to protect society
When you get right down to it, the protests said to be about the shooting of Michael Brown are really about how differently the black and white communities view the police. Blacks may want and need protection, but they dont have the level of confidence in the police that whites express.
That protection occasionally includes having to shoot those who threaten the lives of police officers. If the Ferguson and other city protests are against that they are as irrational as the burning down of the Brown familys church.
What we are witnessing is a rejection of the rule of law and those who put their lives on the line to protect society.

“What we are witnessing is a rejection of the rule of law”
Hey, if it is good enough for Obama, it’s good enough for the ‘hood.
The tie to “color” is not total, but it is distressingly linked to it as an influence.
Rabble rousers like Farrakhan are playing on racial animosities to try to foment something like an absolute rebellion. If they succeed they will get followers who rebel against everything “white” with law being only one thing in the mix that is being rejected.
The rejection of AMERICAN LAW is what Obama and Holder want. In its’ place is a combination of “black reparationist” law, new immigration laws that favor the illegal elements, laws that restrict the powers of the police not only to operate but also to protect themselves, Rules of Engagement that will not let our troops fight to win, and a couple dabs of Sharia Law thrown in for good measure.
All of this defines “the constitutional law professor” (He was not a professor) as a man who is the greatest threat to the Constitution, law enforcement and defense, and the American people/Republic in our history.
He is a lawless, unethical megalomaniac, racist and Marxist with a tinge of Islamist under his burqua.
I disagree. The police are not “our protectors”. Instead, every citizen is in effect “the police”, and the *uniformed* police are hired to do those police tasks that the rest of the public do not wish to do. This amounts to three things:
1) The uniformed police are the day and night watch.
2) They collect evidence of crimes and present that evidence to a judge in an orderly manner.
3) They doggedly pursue criminals to insure their prosecution.
There simply are not and cannot be enough police to “protect us”. And the illusion that they are our protectors results in their conversion from uniformed police to paramilitaries, which is harmful to the public.
To do those three tasks above, the public demands that the police are severely constrained. Such constraints are *not*, or at least *should not* be on the public when they carry out police activities.
That is, police officers are required to try and arrest those who are committing serious felony crimes. Members of the public can legally kill people who are doing this.
When Michael Brown strong-armed that shopkeeper to steal a box of cigars, that shopkeeper could have legally killed Michael Brown.
How do they know Whites have more confidence? More likely that the majority just know they have nothing to fear because they haven't committed any violent illegal acts lately.
