Pharr, TX Trial is set to begin December 1, in the case of former Pharr police officer Erasmo Mata, Jr., accused of repeated first-degree felony sexual assaults of a child.
A federal civil lawsuit filed with Texas Southern District Court back in May accused Mata of assaulting the minor five times, on five separate occasions, all while on duty. The suit alleges that the attacks took place in abandoned houses around the city as other Pharr police officers stood by and watched.
The lawsuit also accused the department of engaging in a cover-up to protect the officers from criminal charges, as well as not conducting a rape kit or immediately testing the evidence.

Was the cop Muslim or a relative of Bubba Clinton?
That’s one cop who should have his limbs removed.
He should die, those others should get life in prison but if they all get executed I won’t mind
Do you know why it is a federal civil suit instead of criminal charges by the DA for the jurisdiction or State of TX?
Not that it makes it any better, but *please* tell me we aren’t talking about a child-child. That is, could this minor be considered “age of consent” in states like SC?
If this was, like, a 13 year old, then I say we ship this officer, and his fellow officers, to a nice town in ISIS held territory with a t-shirt that says, “Proud American.”
Lawsuit??? They should be charged with something criminal, that will get them sent to gen pop. Then we’d see how long they last on the inside.
I was asking myself this very question as well =
“Do you know why it is a federal civil suit instead of criminal charges by the DA for the jurisdiction or State of TX?”
please as time permits let us know-
thank u
and of course God Bless and protect the Texas Rangers.
I know which one to start with.
‘...as other Pharr police officers stood by and watched.’
Whats going to happen to them?
Five occasions, at five locations? Sounds like cooperation from the minor was involved; what kid would show up at those places with that individual otherwise? A statutory offense, most likely.
That does NOT indicate my approval of the situation (hang the b@$t@rd), but the words assault and rape (to me) indicate force or violence.
Pharr, part of the anus of Texas, the border.
