Whatever happens next Tuesday, President Obama’s time in office will have cost his party more seats in Congress than any president in at least half a century.
The numbers are stark. President Obama took office after the 2008 elections with 257 Democrats in the House of Representatives. At the moment, there are only 199 members of his party left — a net loss of 58 seats. And, virtually all analysts expect the number of Democrats to decline even more next Tuesday. The only question is by how much.
To put that number in perspective, the 58 seats already lost by the current president even tops the 46 lost by Richard Nixon amidst the Watergate scandal.
On the Senate side, the same trend is confirmed. Following the 2008 elections, the Democrats held 59 Senate seats. Expectations are that they will have between 45 and 50 following next week’s elections, a decline of 9 to 14 seats. Nixon’s Republicans lost six seats over the same time frame.

Can I dream out loud for just a moment. If the Republicans win the Senate is their any chance, along with Democrat help, we are at the point where we can impeach Obama?
Well, truth be told, Dems have destroyed Dems on the hill. A bunch of infanticidal, greedy, power hungry opportunists tend not to sit well with people who have a conscience. That is not to say certain Republicans do not also deserve THE BOOT.
It’s all about Barry. Everybody Love Barry.
All of which matters very little if the Republicans won’t do what they were send there to do.
If history is any guide, we have little to be optimistic about after the election, regardless of the number of seats that change hands.
Impeached? He could behead a troop of girl scouts on the White House lawn during the Easter Egg roll, butcher them, barbecue them and serve them to all the participants and he still wouldn’t be impeached. And if you criticized him about it, the press would say “it’s a black thing” and accuse you of being a racist tea bagging rethuglican for bringing it up while licking their fingers and asking Michelle what kind of “awesome” spice rub they’re using and beg for more of that “delicious” macaroni & cheese and a refill of their Kool-aid.

Barack Hussein Obama is a failure. Am I a racist? By the way, what the hell kind of a name is that anyway? It sounds like the next thing to come out of some dirt bag's mouth would be Allahu Akbar, before a grenade came flying out.
If the Republicans tried to impeach him, the Democrats would rally around him and make his a hero, attacked by racist Republicans. By sputtering around for two years, helpless and ineffectual, he will further damage Democrats - both local and national.
Many would mail him a thank you card.
How about if he did it to John Boenher?
