Can I dream out loud for just a moment. If the Republicans win the Senate is their any chance, along with Democrat help, we are at the point where we can impeach Obama?

Impeached? He could behead a troop of girl scouts on the White House lawn during the Easter Egg roll, butcher them, barbecue them and serve them to all the participants and he still wouldn’t be impeached. And if you criticized him about it, the press would say “it’s a black thing” and accuse you of being a racist tea bagging rethuglican for bringing it up while licking their fingers and asking Michelle what kind of “awesome” spice rub they’re using and beg for more of that “delicious” macaroni & cheese and a refill of their Kool-aid.

Their chance there doesn’t seem good.

I believe that it is better NOT to try and impeach Obama. It is better to neuter him, and leave him twisting in the wind for the next two years. He will do longer lasting damage to the Democrat party this way.

If the Republicans tried to impeach him, the Democrats would rally around him and make his a hero, attacked by racist Republicans. By sputtering around for two years, helpless and ineffectual, he will further damage Democrats - both local and national.

The following is from WallCheatSheet:

“We’re promising people that things will dramatically change if we win the majority, but we all know that’s not going to happen,” echoed a GOP campaign operative...”

No.

The House can impeach, but no one can put together 67 Senate votes to convict, not going to happen.

It’s a huge loser polictically for Republicans.

Send Obama bills to veto, let to him whine, and find ways to submarine his executive orders. The people will turn against him even more as time goes on.

And pass a damn budget that cuts spending and abolishes some federal agencies, hah!! Dare HIM to shut the government down!

“at the point where we can impeach Obama?”

That would be sweet.

We can list the reasons, almost any of them would be grounds to toss this epic failure out.

Impeach him?

What for and why ?

The congressional leadership just needs to tell him his golf game needs work.....

Don’t worry about running the country anymore. Just keep that pen ready to sign legislation....between rounds....

Impeachment didn’t go over well the last time and it is doubtful that it will be tried again anytime soon. Since Obama will be the lamest of lame ducks with only two years left, and hopefully, with Harry Reid out of the Leaders position it doesn’t make sense. The Impeachment process would take all of the wind out of the sails of a new congress and overshadow everything else for the remaining two years.

No, it will never happen because of the GOP Establishment.

IMO, Obama WANTS to be impeached.

He is such a complete narcissist he cannot possibly walk away without making his mark on history. And as it stands, the track record of his legacy is quite pathetic.

Obama may or may not be a Christian, but he certainly knows the basic plot. Hence the idea of becoming the Greatest Martyr in 2000 Years (touching off a race war in the process) is no doubt endlessly appealing to him.

The GOP would never get 67 seats required for the 2/3 conviction in the Senate.

I embrace your sentiment, but this statement is like saying that since hummingbirds flap their wings and fly, all I need to do is flap my arms and I, too, can fly.

Sadly, there would not be any "Democrat help." The days of Henry Jackson, DP Moynihan, Joe Lieberman, and dare I say it(?), even Hubert Humphrey are long since passed into oblivion.
