Same old scam story: create a problem, then sell the cure. So-called scientists used computer models and fudged data to make it appear that we had a problem, then applied for funding to study it. Keeps ‘em fed, I guess.

If the GOP wins the Senate and holds the House in November, Obama’s EPA regulations that will cause electric rates to skyrocket, should get a major slap down. Simply defund the EPA or better still impeach the Kenyan imposter.

That’s not true. As a practical matter, all of journalism is controlled by the AP. There are of course other wire services - but they have exactly the same incentives that the AP has, so the wire services eliminate ideological competition in the selection of what is news.  The AP newswire is a virtual meeting of all of major journalism which has been in continuous operation since before the Civil War.   And as Adam Smith pointed out,     
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. - Wealth of Nations
Through the medium of that virtual meeting, journalism conspires to promote its interest above the public interest, while suppressing the fact that journalism has any interest apart from the public interest. Well, it does - the motive of being considered more important than the people who deliver real, physical goods and services, instead of merely criticizing those who do.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds - Theodore Roosevelt
Journalism promotes its own importance by emphasizing the hole in whatever donut the public enjoys, and insinuating that mere critics would inevitably have done better than the people who actually take responsibility for decisions while the decisions actually matter - that is, before the results of those decisions can be fully known.

And since journalism has such PR clout with people who fall for the con that journalism is objective because journalists say so, the gutless choice of the politician is to go along and get along with journalism by joining in its chorus of criticism - that is, by becoming socialists while enjoying the favorable PR of being called “liberals.” With a political party in its pocket, journalism then proceeds to promote the idea that “freedom of the press” means freedom of journalists from competition from outside the Associated Press borg. Which is the whole idea of “Campaign Finance Reform.”
