Firm Punished for Verifying Employee's Residency
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 5 Sep 2014 | John Semmens

The Department of Justice has fined Culinaire International $20,000 for asking a prospective hiree to provide proof of legal residence.

“Demanding that employees show proof of citizenship or legal residence in this country is discriminatory,” Attorney General Eric Holder asserted. “It explicitly contradicts the President’s expressed wishes that all applicants whether in this country legally or not be treated equal.”

Holder brushed aside state laws that penalize employers for not verifying residency status as irrelevant. “The possibility that a state may sanction an employer for not conducting such a verification is not my concern,” Holder said. “The fact is Culinare violated our Administration’s policies. We cannot allow that infraction to go unpunished.”

We’re going to have to cut this out...there is no level of parody that exceeds the idiocy of progressives.

It’s a sad turn of events when these satire sites seem *really* plausible.

There are very valid reasons to need this information as in fraud prevention. Of course fraud perps don’t like anything that outs them. Ask any SBA office how many documents they would need to loan out money to The United Hamas Peace Foundation. Again ther are very valid reasons to investigate individuals or business entities if you are going to have any form of relationship where you could be held be avictim of or liable for any of their actions. So FO progs...

Sorry Holder, but King Putt's "expressed wishes" do not supercede the LAW.

Please someone round up these clowns and put them in jail.

This is weird .. in CA, people are required to be fingerprinted and security cleared .. before being allowed to work within any senior resident facility. And .. this is an FBI clearance.

How very odd? The U.S. Government DEMANDS such proof from contractors. Can we fine them, say $17 trillion dollars?
