A pair of shorts.
There are shorts for dogs, I suspect that was how they did it.

Yup, that’s the ticket!

No pet stores here have one small enough for her.

:-\

From the second they come here, I routinely would put my hand in their bowls while eating, arbitrarily take away their food and then give it back.

Same with toys.

No food aggression, here.

They all understand it’s *my* food/toy, really and I’m just letting them borrow it.

:)

Aways tried to establish dominance with my dogs, but the last one snapped anyway out of nowhere when 2. Almost ended up getting rid of her because she was really rabidly aggressive, continuing the animosity well beyond the initial confrontation. Of course, I continued with her and continued taking care of her in the thousands of $ and hours until she died last May on the verge of 12. Conditioned her to behave better again but knew I could never fully trust her again.

There is a reason I prefer some dogs over others. Like humans they are not all the same.

Meanwhile I condition our son to behave reasonably with animals. yes, I allowed him to lie on Tara and hug her, but that was after he learned some respect and wariness and I knew that she was a very compliant dog outside food. I would even stress all the time that he cannot just do those things with any given dog. He must approach them the right way and avoid being too friendly with those not our own.

Anyway, ultimately it is a judgement call. But children should learn how to be around animals.

No!

She already has me trained to hand feed her *first* and ~then~ she’ll eat on her own.

Little brat.

Did you ever have her health tested for hypo T or TBDs?

Seems really odd.

I trained my first Dobe when I lived at home and had a wretched brat of a little sister.

That dog had to be *beyond* bullet proof.

40 years later, she still doesn’t know how to handle animals.

Your last sentence is why I don’t advise letting kids get too comfortable.

*My* dog is not every other dog.

They need to understand that from a very young age.

"Google "turtle cozies" for a good giggle. :)"

There are too many good ones to choose from...everything from a shark fin to a birthday candle to a stegosaurus.

The Viking turtle is very appropriate, though.

Dems but really they take care of themselves

Drives himself to the vet and cleans his own litter box when you are out of town?

Cool!

Since I apparently cannot crochet, if I were rich, she’d have one of each.

I *love* the Stegotortoise, one, too.

:)
