SHOCKER!! Men and Women have Different Views on Marriage!!
Psychology Today ^ | 6/4/2014 | Vikki Stark

Do you remember what it was like when you were twelve? If you’re female and were like many girls, your friends were everything to you. You talked on the phone for hours, chatting passionately about who sat next to whom in the lunchroom, whether you liked Joanne’s new haircut, or making detailed plans about who to invite to your birthday party. You likely also

spent a bunch of time planning your life – what your wedding would be like, what kind of dress you would wear, what kind of house you wanted, how many kids you were going to have (two boys and two girls) and what their names would be. Your future life as a mother and a wife was the stuff of dreams.

Kind of interesting that the author focuses on the specific case of the man leaving the wife, despite the fact that the majority of divorces are initiated by the wife.

Also, she mentions the fact that the man’s primary focus is for his wife to be happy, and men have a need to have their wives admire and respect them. She even admits that women often belittle men over this need. But then, when she gets to discussing why men (whose wives have belittled their desire to be admired and respected) leave their wives, she simply says that “he was not playing the same game all along”, seeming to imply that the husband is at fault because his view of what the relationship should be is not the same as hers.

SHOCKER!!

Really, a shocker ... please.

It all begins with this simple premise.

Women give sex to get love, men give love to get sex. It actually works well.

To be perfectly honest, I am of the XX persuasion and I never fantasized about weddings or being a bride or having children.

Thank GOD I wasn’t born in today’s day and age or they’d be trying to give me transgender surgery!!!

Well it IS Psychology Today. Just admitting there’s a difference must have pained them greatly!

I don't understand why “feminists” are on the forefront of destroying marriage and promoting gay sex. Women tend to be beneficiaries of marriage. The “patriarchy” fantasy was designed by the leftists to get the intelligentsia to hate moral behavior.

“Patriarchy” is designed to benefit women and children.

It answers the question "How do you motivate a man to stick around and provide support and protection for a wife and children?"

A man will care for and protect what he feels is "his". In the "inner city", the apartment, the furniture, the children -- all that is the woman's property, and she will not hesitate to tell the current man in her life that that's how it is. So when the relationship becomes unsatisfying, he leaves. He has nothing invested there.

There are also women who give sex to get sex. Seems to work pretty well too.

Lefty’s are always gobsmacked at any differences between the sexes.
That’s why they don’t have a problem with them marrying one another.

True.

Women enter marriage thinking their man will change but they never do.

Men enter marriage thinking their women will never change but they always do.

Along with the lack of respect a lot of wives have for their husbands there is

“I can’t tell you how many men in my office complain that they feel they are last on the list, after the kids, her job, her mother, her sister, her friends and Zumba”.

Which is very true, feeling like the cash cow and sperm donor.

I’ve experienced all of that for 40 years yet I still love my wife and want her to be happy. During a period of extreme stress for both of us that led to a near breakdown for both of us she decided she wanted a divorce. It was irrational and not grounded in any reality and it took me three months to turn the situation around to the point that things got better and our marriage stronger. My wife’s focus for all of those years was primarily on all of those other things and our relationship was last and least. Now, we are a real team together going on for almost 42 years and we work together to keep the bond strong. She finally seems to understand.

The author gets it, but doesn’t approach an understanding of how their self-centered attitude affects men and their reactions.

The entire feminist agenda seems like it was written by a bunch of Bill Clinton types: pro-abortion, free birth control, free love, dress like a tramp (no ‘slut shaming’), etc.

Men marry the woman thinking that she won’t change
Women marry the man thinking that she can change him

Nowadays, 12-year-old girls are more likely to be Facebooking with their friends about the newest twerking trends, what kind of birth control the school is handing out, and whether their new jock matches their eyes.

They’ve forgotten entirely what it means to be “girls.”

Below is the result of a writing assignment given by an English professor from the University of Colorado. A “tandem story” was to be written by two students, one male, one female.

The story was to be compiled in alternating paragraphs via email, with CC’s to the professor. There was to be no communication between the writers aside from each successive email. The story would end when both participants agreed a successful conclusion had been achieved.

THE STORY:

(first paragraph by Rebecca)
At first, Laurie couldn’t decide which kind of tea she wanted. The chamomile, which used to be her favorite for lazy evenings at home, now reminded her too much of Carl, who once said, in happier times, that he liked chamomile. But she felt she must now, at all costs, keep her mind off Carl. His possessiveness was suffocating, and if she thought about him too much her asthma started acting up again. So chamomile was out of the question.

(second paragraph by Gerry)
Meanwhile, Advance Sergeant Carl Harris, leader of the attack squadron now in orbit over Skylon 4, had more important things to think about than the neuroses of an air-headed asthmatic, tea-drenched bimbo named Laurie with whom he had spent one sweaty night over a year ago. “A.S. Harris to GeoStation 17,” he said into his transgalactic communicator. “Polar orbit established. No sign of resistance so far...” But before he could sign off a bluish particle beam flashed out of nowhere and blasted a hole through his ship’s cargo bay. The jolt from the direct hit sent him flying out of his seat and across the cockpit.

(Rebecca)
He died almost immediately. But not before he felt one last pang of regret for psychically brutalizing the one woman who ever had feelings for him. Soon afterward, Earth stopped pointless hostilities toward the peaceful farmers of Skylon 4. “Congress Passes Law Permanently Abolishing War and Space Travel,” Laurie read online one morning. The news simultaneously excited and bored her. She stared out the window, dreaming of her youth, when the days had passed unhurriedly and carefree, with no cell phones, no Internet to distract her from her sense of innocent wonder at the beauty around her. “Why must one lose one’s innocence to become a woman?” she pondered wistfully.

(Gerry)
Little did she know she had less than 10 seconds to live. The wimpy peaceniks who’d pushed the Unilateral Aerospace Disarmament Treaty through Congress had left Earth a defenseless target for hostile empires determined to destroy the human race. Just hours after the passage of the treaty, alien ships were on course for Earth with enough firepower to pulverize the entire planet. Their lithium fusion missiles entered the atmosphere unimpeded. The President, in his top-secret mobile submarine headquarters on the ocean floor off the coast of Guam, was rocked by the inconceivably massive explosion which vaporized poor, stupid Laurie.

(Rebecca)
This is absurd. I refuse to continue this mockery of literature. My writing partner is a violent, chauvinistic, semi-literate adolescent geek.

(Gerry)
Yeah? Well, my writing partner is a self-centered tedious neurotic whose attempts at writing are the literary equivalent of Valium. “Oh, shall I have chamomile tea? Or shall I have some other &*@#@#@# TEA??? Oh no, what am I to do? I’m an air headed bimbo who reads too many romance novels!”

(Rebecca)
@hole.

(Gerry)
B@tch!

(Rebecca)
#@!% YOU - YOU NEANDERTHAL!!

(Gerry)
In your dreams, ‘Ho. Go drink some more #@#&*!@ tea.

(Rebecca)
I hate you. Don’t ever talk to me again.

(TEACHER)
A+ I really liked this one.

I clicked on the article and stopped reading when I saw the headline, “schlepping towards heartbreak”

Schlepping isn’t a positive word. They lost me at that.

‘Hmnnnn mostly rings true in my life.’
Me too. We must be some kind of throwbacks, hung up somewhere in the evolutionary tree before there were very many branches.
It appears I will never be the man the current crop of women desire. I am heading to the local monastery or the French Foreign Legion to offer my services.
