You both raise the same point, that FDR’s corruption of the Interstate Commerce clause (as well as LBJ’s corruption of the General Welfare clause, have both been accepted by the SCOTUS, even though they should have been rejected on their face.

Thus, when conservatives are in power in congress and also have the POTUS, the Supremes should be encouraged to reverse these decisions and return the country to greater constitutionality.

But, in the meantime, the pressure being applied is by the 10th Amendment movement among the individual states, because eventually one or more of them will bring the lawsuit that is used to overturn the abuses.

Lead is lead, brass is brass, primer chemicals are primer chemicals, gun powder is gun powder, a stamp press is a stamp press, and labor is labor regardless of the bullet produced. They are all used in a factory that produces rounds.

No, not true...the lead is confirgured into wire.. copper cups or wash... brass strip or cups.. not as simple as you state. For high volume production that is the standard today to be profitable, the old machinery does not work out over the long haul or even in the short term unless you don’t have a profit margin. Go to Lake City Arsenal, straight out of WW2, look inside ATK/Federal or Olin Winchester, light years ahead... way ahead, that cost money to have modern facility and the companies that produce the high speed modern arsenal equipment are 3 in total, none here in the USA and only one of the 3 three make 22LR equipment! Get in line for the equipment then wait years to get the Capital back.... YEARS. The larger profits in this market are with the retailers, not the OEM’s of ammo.

No boating for me. I sold all my tools to a guy whose name I don’t recall. But he paid cash and I spent it already, on food storage and a payment-free vehicle. I miss those tools ...

I’m short on .22lr so I have joined Gander Mtn and signed up to have gunbot on whenever I’m online, with a sound to alert me to new .22lr up on the site.

You could become quite wealthy using internet auction sites.

I had a gun salesman at Walmart tell me you had to have a FFL to sell ammunition, and if ATF would enforce that law most of the 22 shortage would end.

The gun salesman lied to you.

Private sale of ammunition is allowed, just like private gun sales.

Firearms FAQs
http://www.atf.gov/content/Firearms/firearms-industry/FAQ-firearms

Q: Is a license required to engage in the business of selling small arms ammunition?

A: No. A license is not required for a dealer in ammunition only, but a manufacturer or an importer of ammunition must be licensed.

Actually, I said that wrong:

Private sale of ammunition is allowed, just like private gun sales.

You can make private sales of firearms, but not be in the business of selling firearms without a FFL. That is not true for ammo alone. You could become a high volume dealer of ammunition and it be the only source of your income without a FFL. However, If you did, I suspect you would be “inspected” on a regular basis.
