*drooling*
I’ll take one suppressed please!
(on a side note I guarantee there’s a whole bunch of swat teams just licking their chops wanting one of those so they can tote them to their no-knock parties too)

But can privates and corporals also use this machine gun or is it only for generals to use?

Full auto is legal to own in most States, but law requires registration with Fedzilla (BATFE and local top cop) and payment of $200 tax to Feds.
The mis-named “Firearms Owners Protection Act” of 1986 specifies that no full auto NOT registered with BATF in 1986 may be registered with them. Therefore, the supply of legally ownable, legally registerable full auto firearms is fixed ... and the price is through the roof.
IMHO, a plain reading of the Second Amendment and of the Miller decision clearly indicates that this provision of the FOPA is unconstitutional.

Sweden tested this LMG against the MAG-58 (M240G), the G3, and the M60E4 and decided to buy the M60E4.

Yep. Saw it as I read down-thread. It’s complete madness ... even if I could afford to feed it, I can’t even remotely afford to buy it. I see “Class-III” stuff at gun shows, some times. A clapped-out MAC10 or similar might have a $15,000 price tag ... and that’s a cheap gun.
Back in reality-ville, there’s no technical reason why a full-auto “M-16” would be any more difficult or expensive to manufacture than a semi-auto “AR-15”. In a free country, the latter wouldn’t even exist, as it is a bastardization of Gene Stoner’s design.

Oy, you should have heard me trying to explain to a young liberal that fully-automatic weapons are not legal for people to own. That depends on which state in which you live. Here in Ohio, we can. You still gotta pay the gubmint $200 and go through the FBI background check. But unless you go through that, you still can't.

Nice, but check out this modified old war horse The durability is great, but I'm not impressed with the groupings.

Roger. And that 1986 law was passed under Reagan’s watch. Select fire weapons are generally overkill, but if we’re trying to fight a tyrant and his army, laying down suppressing fire could be VERY useful.
