forgive my ignorance, but are you saying this because its so easy you don’t need directions, or that the additives in commercial baby food is not a problem?
Do you think FR is here to discuss baby food?
Maybe there’s some secret sinister ingredient that Gerber, Heinz, et al. are using which is intended to dumb down our next generation to bring them under the thumb of tyranny!

Actual commercial baby foods have improved in quality, if anything. Health consciousness has been an overall plus. Even sick people are healthier today, if an oxymoron can be pardoned.
Before they invented baby food jars, everyone made their own babyfood. It isn’t like drilling for oil or putting a man on the moon. You just take today’s leftover vegetables and mashed potatoes or whatever, put them through a sieve or a blender and “Voila,” it’s babyfood. Even a dumb guy or a blond can do it.
Yeah... there was the potato masher and egg beater of old, even. Or just plain spoons. Sometimes, as gross as we would view it today, mom just chewed the food then put it in baby’s mouth. Somehow the human race hung on.
Baby food, The Daytona 500, The Super Bowl, favorite pickup line songs, volcanos, earthquakes, Derek Jeter, A-rod, Lance Armstrong, the Grammy's , the Oscars, hump-day humor, the Olympics, gardening, astronomy, recipes, restaurants, Stanley Cup, World Cup, Duck Dynasty, travel, couponing, reading, movies, movie star deaths, music star deaths...
Whatever people want to talk about.

Exactly. When my now 17-year-old son was at that age, I’d rummage through all the plastic leftover containers in the fridge, put ‘em in one bowl, nuke ‘em, smash ‘em up, and spoon feed it to him. He never voiced any discontent and he’s still healthy as an ox.
As I said, this isn’t rocket science, but today you’d probably get arrested for child abuse.

Hey, I hate homemade baby food recipe posts here as much as the next FREEPer, but it’s a pretty limited sin compared to KEVO’s constant magic energy machine posts, daily “daily thought” posts read by only two people a day, gazillions of cat posts, and bazillions of “what is the best - car, gun, city, state, recipe, computer, or whatever” posts and “how do I fix a XXXXXXX” posts, so let’s cut the homemade baby food recipe posters some slack (unless they start posting every day of course.)
(BTW, I actually LIKE cat posts and “what is the best of” and “how do I fix a” posts. They can be quite educational. Except for the cat posts. They aren’t educational; I just like cats.)
Yeah, I’m kinda fond of the Kitteh posts myself, I guess.
My real beef was that this post is by someone wanting hits to their blog. Which, we all know really sucks, no matter what the subject is.
