The Obama administration’s attack on America’s coal industry has swung into high gear with EPA enforcers setting emission rates so low that virtually no plant will be able to meet the new standards. And as a consequence, more American workers will be thrown out into the cold, their families thrown into the welfare maw and American dependence on overseas energy sources thrown into states that historically have given us the fire in our economic engines.

CiR has just received an urgent Email alert from Western mountain states urging our readers to send Emails, faxes, and traditional letters to the following link: a-and-r-Docket@epa.gov. You must give this identification when you pull up the EPA prompt: Docket ID:EPA-HQ-OAR-2013-0495 You only have until February 6 to oppose the EPA’s actions to basically shut down all coal production. “If they are able to do this...

The Democrats are making life very difficult of middle class Americans. Their actions are driving up the cost of energy which will result in it being much higher for Americans to heat their homes.

The coal states and the coal workers are heavily unionized and Democrat.

Shed not a tear for them. They voted for the SOB.

By the time he’s through with them, those states will be angry Tea Partiers and “extremist” Republicans.

This nation needs an effort to create liquid fuel from solid coal. I’m thinking Thorium reactor for the heat supply and FT process to make the conversion. As a nation we would be independent of foreign oil in a few years.

We have the natural resources to fuel our own economy and remain prosperous for a long time to come but the Democrats are the ones standing in the way as usual. They don’t want people to be independent and self sufficient. If that happens what need is there for a political party that advocates government assistance and truthfully wants full control and power over the American people. The Dems know that and for them politics is a bloodsport with no holds barred on their accusations and ruthlessness in going after their political enemies. Hypocrisy means nothing to these people. It’s okay to make promises and then not fufill them as long as they control the political process.

The EPA could not get away with destroying the coal industry without the cooperation of the Republican Party.

The Republicans can defund any actions they take, but as usual they are toothless tigers.

The US exports the majority of its coal. The mines will probably not be affected.

“The Democrats are making life very difficult of middle class Americans. Their actions are driving up the cost of energy which will result in it being much higher for Americans to heat their homes.”

The Republican Congress, which continues to fund this activity, is making life very difficult for middle class Americans. We must accept that the Democrats could not accomplish what they have been, and are, doing without the votes of Republicans in Congress. The Republican House controls all appropriations. What have they stopped funding other than military benefits?

Obama didn’t come close to winning WV either time, but our two democrat senators won’t stand up for this state. Rockefeller retired years ago, though it was never official until recently. Good chance Shelley Moore Capito will be the first Republican Senator from WV in a long time.
