Was contemplating whether or not I should wait for final release.. couldn't wait...... :D

Formatting/(re)partitioning took about 2 minutes.. total install, less than 8 minutes..

updating system, less than 45 seconds..

only 1 reboot required.. and it was only for an nvidia driver...

For an RC, excellent!!

Win, 2 weeks to upgrade after a fresh instal... or 2 months to get cr@p sorted after "upgrade to new OS".. Mac, no idea.. :p

Anyway FReepFriends, ver nice and smooth install.. OH.... ->>

I did have to reformat my USB flash to FAT16 (from FAT32).

Other than that, gets smoother every time :D

I'm not finding a live DVD. I won't do an install on one of the production boxes, and hate to do one on the development boxes that are running tests.

This may have to wait for later.

lol, you beat me to ping... went to water toilet first >.< lol :)

I am waiting to get a little more comfy with Linux before I go to Fedora.. a bit more advanced than I am comfy with... if it was DOS based, I could travel back in time to assist ;)

Yeah—I understand that Fedora is more for the experienced user. Since I’ve never used anything else (for the long term), it took me a while to figure that out. :)

Yep. I'm downloading the install DVD now, but didn't find a live DVD version.

Forgot to mention a few things... seems they wiped about 27,000 lines of code out.... much faster boot... doesn’t try to connect while booting.. darnit.... just get the live-cd and check it out.

Very nice, overall, have not ran into any problems yet.... so far, only blemish I see, is that the connected/not connected icon remains the same.

also... if you are using UNETboot to format a USB flash/nail drive.. reformat to FAT16, then install new OS (first time I have had to do this... but after about 6 hours research on net, it worked ;)

That's what I'm downloading. It looked like an install DVD to me, and not a live-run DVD. I guess I'll find out in a few minutes. I do like to test drive new releases on a Live DVD and not actually do an install until I'm happy with it.

Fedora is RHEL’s officially unofficial little brother. I had to go to Ubuntu on account of Fedora’s feverish upgrade timelines. I was happy to see Canonical doing LTS on Ubuntu distros. That makes me happy.

That being said, I’m sort of on the fence with Mint. They’re a decent distro, but I’ve become such an Ubuntu fanboy that I can’t imagine going to another flavor.

I do support KDE but prefer Gnome.
