Free Republic Steam Gamers' Group
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FreeRepublicGamers ^

Posted on 10/17/2013 10:26:52 PM PDT by Crazieman

This was brought about by an idea in an earlier thread this week discussing Valve and PC Gaming. I had no idea how many other Freepers had Steam.

A cursory glance indicated no existing groups for Free Republic, so I decided to create one.

Request an invite at: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FreeRepublicGamers

Most of all, have fun, and stay true to the Constitution.

Okay, I don’t want to make the group public, and invites can’t be requested (never made a group before) so... freepmail me, or even ask to friend me on Steam itself (Crazieman).

The more members added, the easier the invite ability, members must invite it seems.

OK... while I have played the occasional PC game, a factor which you mentioned in your posting, would it be too much to ask for a brief rundown as to what exactly you are going on about? Especially since your link appears to give no more information other than "Welcome... FReepers"...

Is that the game?

It is just another place for Freepers to gather, in this sense, a subset of like minded gaming Freepers. The general idea is to hopefully have the same games at some point and play together and have fun.

Actually, the last "Solitaire" -like game I played was "Spider"...

But that was on a Sparc IPX "Breadbox" computer running Solaris 1.1.1, -and quite a challenging game it was!

Especially with those "Eyes" watching wherever the mouse pointer traveled to.

I'm not a big gamer, but I've been waiting for a game to be released called 'State of Decay', a zombie themed game. My understanding is that there is an early version available now on Steam.

Once my work schedule eases a bit, I plan to download it and waste vast amounts of time.

Personally, I’ve been waiting for Battlefield 4 (on the POS Origin...) as well as the (hopefully) eventual PC release of GTA 5

I’m not online to Steam very often (Steam startup is offline), but if any other FReepers play RACE 07 (other than WTCC) I’d be interested.

Having never made a Steam Group before, only having joined them, it seems I need to “Friend” you before I can invite to the group. I do not wish to allow the group to be an open invitation.

I am ‘Crazieman’ on Steam. Friend me for a request to the group.

Fun gaming, you all!

The full game was released for Xbox first, and I think there was a free demo before that release. I don't have an Xbox, and don't currently play any PC games, but my Xbox owning brother told me about the game and that a PC version was forthcoming. I think it's now available on Steam, but this version requires an Xbox controller (not keyboard and mouse). I haven't seen anything indicating that there's a demo version available for PC.

Again, not a big gamer, so all of what I just posted could be wrong.
