China added insult to injury in the escalating trade war over solar power panels on Monday, announcing plans to impose an anti-subsidy trade duty on some imports of U.S. solar-grade polysilicon.
Chinas Commerce Ministry said it would start collecting a 6.5% trade duty on U.S. imports of polysilicon, a key material used to make solar panels, in September, according to Reuters.
In July, China slapped U.S. polysilicon imports with anti-dumping duties of more than 50%, claiming that the imports were being sold below market value.
The anti-subsidy trade duties will target polysilicon imports from U.S. manufacturers that have received subsidies, including Hemlock Semiconductor, a polysilicon manufacturer based in Hemlock, MI, and AE Polysilicon, a manufacturer based in Fairless Hills, PA.
Polysilicon imports from several other U.S. manufacturers, including REC Solar Grade Silicon LCC, REC Advanced Silicon Materials LCC, and MEMC Pasadena, will not be subject to the new trade duties, according to the Ministry.

Obama will ponder this over a game of golf ... and do nothing. Even if he chose to do something, his credibility (fear factor) is shot.
Bathouse Barry has turned the US into an object of mockery all over the world.
AMEN!!
Gee whiz. I wonder where China got all their R & D to produce such excellent solar panels?
And the Free Trade Communists ...who support our destructive trade policies with Communist China.....would squeal like a gay man if the US responded with tariffs on the Communist Chinese
And...Obama is Free Trade Communist....he will not retaliate. Free Trade Communists support Obama...they share the same goals for American economic destruction
He already did do something, I think. Probaly some of barrys Chicago buddies received the subsidies to begin with
