Abbott: Wendy Davis not 'too stupid' to be governor
Austin American-Statesman ^ | 09/16/2013 | Jonathan Tilove

Round Rock — Attorney General Greg Abbott said Monday that Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, is not “too stupid” to be governor.

Abbott was responding to a question from a reporter after speaking to supporters at a campaign event at the 620 Cafe Café & Bakery, regarding a retweet last week by Abbott’s campaign adviser Dave Carney, suggesting that Davis, a Harvard-trained attorney who is considering seeking the Democratic nomination for governor, “is too Stupid to be Governor.”

Carney’s tweet linked to UrbanGrounds, where Robbie Cooper of Austin blogged that the recall election last week of two Democratic state senators in Colorado who had backed a new gun control law, “makes me think that Texas state Senator Wendy `Abortion Barbie’ Davis is even dumber than her fake blond hair would imply. According to the far-left (and huge fans of Abortion Barbie) Texas Tribune, Davis is likely to add tougher gun restrictions to her campaign agenda if (when) she decides to run for Governor.”

That was a reference to a story in which Jay Root wrote that, “Despite the risks, Davis, known for waging sometimes lonely political battles, has not been afraid to pick a fight over guns — in particular over gun shows.

Asked about the “too stupid” tweet, Abbott said, “I disagree with that statement and we’re going to make sure that this campaign focuses on the real issues that matter to Texans. What we’re talking about here today is a small business owner and the challenges small businesses face. So our focus is going to be on creating jobs, on keeping taxes low and keeping Texas the state that provides more opportunities than nay other state.”

Notice how they ask him about something someone else says, as if he should be implicated by it. They will never do that to a leftist.

I think Pauken needs to start attacking Democrats.

He can attack Democrats if he wins the Texas Republican nomination for governor. But until then, he must attack his GOPer opponent. It’s a basic rule of the primaries in Texas. Why do you think debates are so important? It’s to show Texans who would be a true conservative in the race.

It tells me he is against Abbott, I get that. If he cannot also tell and show me he opposes the leftist Democrats, I won't even consider it.

The true conservative in the race is the one beating up on leftists.

Review Tom Pauken’s campaign Website and cite a place where you see him promoting Leftist values. Using the argument, “don’t nominate this guy because he will lose against the other Party’s nominee is an effective strategy too.”

I am a Texas voter, right? Most Texas voters who only see the headlines are going to think Tom Pauken only lives to attack Abbott. I never said he promoted leftist values, I only said there needs to be a better strategy than non-stop attacks on Abbott if he wants to win the primary.

Most voters are not going to go to his website to look for conservative values and principles. They will only see the headlines and video/audio clips on the news.

They will wonder what is Tom Pauken about besides hitting Abbott. Pauken needs to camapign on his values and principles for a while and simply not mention Abbott. Why? Because that is what front-runners do. They do it because it makes them sound like someone who expects to win. Like it’s in the bag.

This strategy does not make Pauken sound like someone who expects to win. Biting at the heels of Abbott makes Abbott sound like he is running away with the nomination. Don’t you think it’s a bit early to be sounding desperate to voters?

Do you understand my point now?

I would lay it on twice as thick. It is time we SHOW how stupid the other side is. Why are we afraid to treat them as harshly as they treat any of the Conservative candidates.

Not only stupid, a stupid, baby killing whore!

So you are suggesting Abbott’s Republican opponents praise Abbott and they will win the GOP nomination. Accordingly, let’s try this slogan, “’I love Abbott,’ vote Pauken.” Hmmm ... I doubt this slogan would persuade Abbott voters to vote for Pauken.

Didn’t seem to have any effect on the Leftist candidacy of one Barack H. Obama who had numerous proxies saying the most disgraceful and libelous things about Sarah Palin.

She want to run with the big digs, she should put on her big girl panties. Never a kind word for your enemy.

So you are suggesting Abbott’s Republican opponents praise Abbott and they will win the GOP nomination

and when did I do that? I said he should not even mention Abbott. Where do you get "praise Abbott" out of "not even mention Abbott"?

I am saying Pauken sounds like he is losing badly and is desperately throwing mud (this is the impression, true or not) when he needs to actually be talking about issues. These headlines and the articles you posted today are not pro-Pauken unless there are also articles and headlines outlining Pauken's vision for Texas minus attacks on fellow Republicans.

I really don't think I am being too hard to follow here.

What is so offensive about the truth? She has fake blond hair and is abortion, even late tern abortion. Maybe not stupid, but certainly morally repugnant.
As for Abortion Barbie. The term Caribou Barbie was thrown around often by Obama surrogates. As well as many other fake and libelous stories.

We have spent decades being nice to our enemies. Now is the time to point to them and laugh. The certainly deserve it and often are very bad at taking it. I am certain the ‘Harvard trained lawyer’ is as thin skinned as the great O’Bumbler.

So we should not have debates in the Texas GOP gubernatorial primaries. As you suggested, Pauken “should not even mention Abbott.”

The main issue is that Abbott supporters don’t know how to take a punch from fellow conservative Republicans. They throw hissy fits if I remind them that Abbott is too afraid to debate Pauken one-on-one. Abbott ate a birthday cake with Gov. Chris Christie. Donald Trump donates to his campaign. Personally, I find it humorous to watch the howling reaction of Abbotteers. Makes for good comedy. Meanwhile, nomination fights are about vetting your Party’s candidates. Attacks are essential to the vetting process to help voters make more informed decisions. If the roles were reversed and Pauken was leading, I would bet that Abbotteers would go into a rage if Pauken refused to debate his GOP opponent.

“Maybe Pauken should hire me as an advisor. lol.”

As you and the entire world knows, Pauken is low on campaign funds, but I’m sure he could use your help with fundraising, volunteering and getting the message out that Pauken is the ‘True Conservative’ in the Texas governor’s race. I’m sure he would be happy to welcome you aboard:

Don’t criticize “Mr. Genius.” He gets his mysogynistic talking points from Greg Abbott’s campaign team. They asked him to attack women and so you have to admire his blind loyalty, although his actions lack respect for women, are crude and devoid of basic common sense. However on a matter of ethics and good manners, one should not admire loyalty when it’s perpetuating barbaric behavior.

No wonder you are a retread, you can’t accurately read someones’s post. Your post was nonsensical, evidently politics, and not even manhood are strong areas for you, there is no political gain in this, only political setback for the republicans of Texas and their image.

Oh look, another white knight conservative.

All the left has to do is run women for every office, and morons on the right will allow the left to walk all over us because we can't say anything bad about women.
