A plan to conduct virginity tests on female students entering high school in the town of Prabumulih, South Sumatra, has drawn criticism from various quarters.
“The test will be implemented in 2014 and will be paid for out of the city budget,” Prabumulih Education Agency chief HM Rasyid said on Tuesday. He said the test was aimed at reducing vice crimes committed against students.
Rasyid was optimistic the test would have a positive impact, as it would steer female students away from “negative activities”.
“This is for their own good,” he added.
The agency chief admitted that the plan still faced a stumbling block regarding human rights.
A guidance counselor at state high school SMAN 3 Prabumulih, Deny Trisna, questioned the policy.
“What will we do with female students who are no longer virgins?” he asked.
Deny said the idea for the virginity test might have stemmed from revelations that many students were involved in promiscuity at the Prabujaya field, as well as reports of human trafficking activities involving female students.

How many girls are NOT virgins going into high school? I don’t believe the percentage is very high. I think this is a waste of money that I am sure Indonesia could use for other things. Of course, I don’t agree with this at all, but IF the country wants to do this and the people accept it then perhaps at the END of high school would be more beneficial. I know it is not exactly a state’s issue since they don’t have states in Indonesia, but the United States does not have a say in the matter.
It’s Indonesia. A 3rd world country. Probably has girls that young as playthings of wealthy Muslims.

It was either Indonesia or Malaysia a few years back where Muslim men were buying Christian girls from impoverished families to enslave (and use for sex).
A girls death caused a huge international scandal, the government didn’t think anything of it. Finally the leader of the country paid off the family personally. There was never any real threat the perp would be charged, of course.
Eventually, they will stone the girls to death or just turn them into prostitutes. This is Obamas home turf when he was a Jakarta street thug
