If Trayvon Martin had stalked George Zimmerman with a gun and shot him on the evening of February 26, 2012, it’s dead certain he would have been arrested that very nigh, and spent the ensuing months in the slammer, with a very high bail imposed and public opinion stacked against him, with most white Americans inclined to think he was a vicious thug. Finding a jury that could render an objective verdict in the case of a black kid in a hoodie who shot a lighter skinned man named Zimmerman would have been virtually impossible.
In fact, even though he is the person who is dead, Trayvon Martin has been treated to the kinds of character assassination frequently experienced by rape victims. Just as rape victims must prove they did nothing to provoke being raped, black murder victims have to prove they didn’t deserve to be murdered.
It is a crime to be black in this country. In all categories of crime, the number of black men locked up in America’s prisons is vastly disproportionate to their percentage of the population.
But once the racism has been stipulated, the next step must be to seek ways to change the pervasive racist attitudes that poison us all and that get so many black kids killed. Stereotypes about young black men are not only held by self-righteous vigilantes like George Zimmerman, or the fulminating firebrands at Fox News; they’re internalized and incubated in the black community as well. A couple of decades ago, Jesse Jackson was criticized for admitting that even he gets uneasy when he’s on the streets alone and spots three or four young black males coming his way. There’s barely an American to be found anywhere who doesn’t experience a spike in blood pressure at the sight.....

The reason the disproportionate number of blacks are incarcerated is simple: THEY commit a disproportionate number of crimes....dumbass.

What rubbish. The spate of black on white crimes that never get ANY publicity prove that if Trayvon Martin had stalked George Zimmerman with a gun and shot him on the evening of February 26, 2012, Martin's race would never have been published, and nobody would have heard about the case.
Has anyone counted the number of St. Trayvon threads on FR? Have we reached one thousand yet?
This is the type of mindset that got stuck somewhere - old and gray and still not a lick of sense. He’s too depraved to make further comment on.
Don’t confuse him with logic. It’s like arguing with a mule, it frustrates you and confuses the mule.
On the contrary; it has become a crime to be white in this country.
The guy looks like he might around 50 or so. It’s remarkable that someone can be that old and still be so stupid. If O’Neill truly believes racism is killing black kids, he’s got more than a few screws loose.
I think meeting just one under the same circumstances as Zimmerman would do.
