ACA is a power grab, plain and simple.

It ought to be de funded if for no other reason than for the abjectly underhanded and criminally corrupt way in which it was forced into effect.

THAT is enough to nullify ANY standing (if any at all) it MAY have had.

Tell me… why would a thoroughly truthful and sincerely humane piece of legislation REQUIRE the kind and scope of subterfuge that was employed in passing THIS monstrosity?

It is a naked power grab by a bunch of VERY unprincipled and criminal thugs, whose concern for YOUR health is entirely incidental.

“Oh, really Rubio? You want in on this, too? Trying to shore of your long-lost conservative cred? Bite it, backstabber.”

Same with Toomey. Looking for conservative support for his re-election. Sorry, Pat, that support is gone. You fooled conservatives once. Won't happen again.

Why is it that Sen Ted Cruz is the only one sounding and acting like what the Republican party is supposed to be... I may vote for Republicans, but I’ll be d_ _ _ _ _d if I call myself one. Marko Rubio, you McCain’s boy now... your dead to us.

Well, let me help you out here...and I would love to see manufacturing come back, or any other jobs come back, by the way. I do not have much patience for the same type of misplaced angst over and over again though. I’m not a patient person.

First, this is America, and there is no WE when it comes to business. Countries that have a WE in business are by definition SOCIALIST or some form of STATISM. So you are just off the reality plantation the very second you talk in terms of what WE should do. That’s not what built America. And it won’t be what saves America. In fact, that’s what is killing America.

Second, what is “it?” Many jobs are lost because they were obsolete. Others were lost because of unions, regulations, and taxes. In other words, reality and government are what has killed the jobs. It’s not China. We don’t control China.

Third, economies are dynamic and ever changing. For this reason, economies are both wonderful and cruel. Sorry, reality sucks sometimes. It is still reality.

So there is no “bringing back” anything, really, however, there are ways to create: reduce taxes, reduce regs, stay the hell away from unions, produce our own energy without huge governmental burdens. If we did that, China wouldn’t make a damned bit of difference.

Aim your angst at liberalism, and not China. You’ll be happier, and smarter. And yes, Palin and Friedman and Sowell agree with me on this.

Rubio cosponsored and voted for S. 744. That bill is an outright declaration of war on low and middle income Americans. He is dead to me.

Well your posts drip hatred, but that’s beside the point. He was always a risk on immigration - even when he was the conservative golden boy, there was always the understanding that as a Florida Hispanic, he was not in the mainstream of conservative thought on this one issue. This goes back to his hey day, when he was moving past Crist in the polls...when Crist dropped out...when Rubio was routing Meeks....there was ALWAYS this soft spot on immigration.

Now, he has not shown this kind of squishiness on Obama Care at any moment to any degree, period. Only an emotional carry over from immigration would cause suspicion here.

Someone who thinks that China is a bigger threat to our existence than Obama Care is - is simply someone beyond help......someone who is obsessed....

Congratulations. You win today’s award for the most anti-Rubio comment. Way to go.

Now, since you’ve got your award, maybe you can now keep your eye on the ball. 744 is gonna die in the House, but Obama Care is still about to bite you in the ass. You gonna look a gift horse in the mouth because you’re insulted over 744? Go ahead. Enjoy your death panel. At least you’ll know you won an award for the most anti Rubio comment on FR!!!!! YIPEEEEEE. (and we say liberals are obsessed with celebrity over reality....sheeesh....)

I agree with all of that.

However I also agree that our healthcare system before, was a complete mess.

That is my point. It makes no sense to me for someone as talented as Cruz, to waste his time on “fixing” something which was broken before, by changing it back to the way it was.

The only way I can see this benefiting him, is if a true fix of our healthcare system was included.

I do not see that, so basically this is just a way to force things back to what we had - which was such a complete mess.

That is my point.

Cruz has a powerful voice, and he could be working on a lot of good right now.

Quite possibly.

At the least, there’s not even a basic knowledge of the health care tax issue.

I don't trust Rubio either AND I hate what he's done. It's not just that he disagrees with us on immigration, it's that he's lied way too many times on just this one issue to ever trust him again.

I don't mind that he's with Cruz on any issue, I still will not trust Rubio again.

While many conservatives are against government involvement in healthcare, there are quite a large number of us likewise, fed up with our healthcare as it stands, and ready for some guarantees.

One of the problems is the SEVERE regulation on the medical community. For example, you remember the Job-fairs you went to in college, where they would hand out free stuff, right? Well, when doctors go to conferences, they have to itemize all their free-stuff and report it to the government. Moreover, insurances are likewise tied to the medical-regulations (they are also regulated) in things like mandatory health insurance laws in some places.

In order to get rid of government in medicine we also have to get rid of it in insurance. I have yet to see any real proposals for that.

Some people think they are conservative economically, but they are really narrow interest populists. These folks are blind to the inter-connectedness of economies. They see little things on the surface, and don’t have any understanding of cause and effect and related consequences. They tend to pick and choose what they want government to do, and have a very poor concept of liberty and macro economics.

I’m not asking anyone to trust Rubio....to me, this is not about Rubio. I’m only asking people to welcome any and all allies in the battle against Obama Care. We lost that one, we’re done.....

Just for reference, China now exports more than anyone else, including a (bunch) to America.

And China is the world’s largest communist country.

I do not think my priorities are mixed up. Thanks.

“...a way to force things back to what we had - which was such a complete mess.”

With or without ACEA, I think the PRIMARY issue driving the excessive cost of health care is that insured patients have to absorb the cost of health care for ALL the people who pay nothing at all and never will, in addition to paying their own way!

THAT has to be addressed and then, there would be no need for the ACA monstrosity of anything like it.

The “O” plan not only ignores this but is guaranteed to exacerbate the problem by extending ALL treatment to ALL comers-unconditionally!
