America now has its first monument to atheism...
I've never understood atheism. I mean, I get that they don't believe in God (a belief that is ironic in that it's way more irrational than their perspective people who do believe in something).
What I don't get is this pathological need to spread their non-belief. Isn't trying to convert people to your way of thinking a...I don't know, what's the word....
RELIGION?!?
Anyway, here's what it looks like...
ROTFL
I think its wonder that it is a bench, now we can put our asses on it, maybe change a baby diaper or two.
Ouch, misspelling of Atheism.
Is it full of $#!+? LOL
Atheists are trying to convince themselves that they are right.
They are frightened, and they feel that if they band together it will help soothe their fears.
They know that if they are wrong they face the firs of hell, they want each other to convince themselves that when they die that is the end. No eternal damnation, which is what they fear-—they fear being wrong.
How stupid is that?
Good. Now when I piss on it, there will be no problems.
I think most of them just hate God. They hate that they cannot understand everything. They hate that they cannot understand why bad things happen. They hate that they have to answer to a higher being. They hate that they’ll never know all the answers. It’s a pride thing.
They believe there are no values to live up to, other than those they establish for themselves.
Notice there is no difference in what their list of wants, vs. what a Christian wants?
It is only that they want it “instead of” prayer and acknowledgment of God.
That whole “you will be as gods, knowing good and evil” thing ain’t working out as promised, is it?
Atheists believe that a hospital should be built instead of a church? Where is this Atheist hospital? Is it near one the 25% of hospitals in America with the word “Saint” on the building that the Church built?
“An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church
An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said
And atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death
He wants disease conquered, poverty banished, war eliminated”
What an odd thing to have written, seeing as an atheist has absolutely no reason to believe any of those things unless he or she wants to. An atheist could just as easily blow up a hospital in some kind of insurance scheme, abort a baby for convenience, spread AIDS if he was homosexual with no concern for the recipient, horde as much wealth as he could and allow others to starve, or go to war for plunder and revenge.
If an atheist did any one of these things, he would not have failed atheism, he would not have failed to live up to the atheist standard described, since the standard is merely illusory.
No atheist leader has come anywhere close to this standard. And notice this standard is very similar to the promises of communism. Ending poverty and providing hospitals and joining the people of the world in peace. Unfortunately, men do not operate in the way described on this rock. It’s not in our nature, especially when we believe that no judgement awaits after death.
The SC has ruked that atheism is a religion and protected by the freedom of religion. And as such, shouldn’t their monument be banned from public property?
Yep, that’s a very good thing to ask them - just where are the atheist sponsored hospitals?
I have been wondering about evangelical atheists for about forty years. I have come to believe that that they are not truly atheists at all, but rather that their god is ‘Progress’. While they claim to be more scientific, their views are utterly at odds with the first law of thermodynamics.
Atheists just do not want to believe in God or anyone else to believe in God because they have reserved the feeling of being a little god or whatever as superior moral persons for themselves. They are self centered wannabe moral tyrants.
Atheists don’t understand the implications of their own theory.
If EVERYTHING reduces to matter in motion, then nothing can have any meaning. Moralizing of any kind, including the promotion of atheism, cannot, in principle, be of more or less worth than anything else.
Even absolute relativism and indifference to morality is a form of moralizing.
