Things are so bad at some airports that ABC posted a list of the airports with the most sticky-fingered TSA employees. Miami International topped the list, with New Yorks JFK, and Los Angeles International coming in a close second and third.
One woman, however, has finally come forward to put a face on these thefts. A woman known as The Patriot Nurse put up a YouTube video in which she says that, between the time she checked her baggage at the departure airport and received it back again on her arrival, someone had broken into her luggage and stolen her gun.
According to her website, The Patriot Nurse is an RN who works in the United States, but also travels extensively to do medical missionary work. On one of her travels, as she explains in her video, she opened the suitcase she had checked for her flight, only to discover that someone had broken the locked compartment in which she carried her gun and had stolen the gun.
Thanks to the power of the internet, Patriot Nurse refused to fade into anonymity. Instead, she put up a video on her popular YouTube channel to talk about her experience. As she explains, while I was out traveling . . . teaching my medical preparedness . . . and in transit my weapon was stolen, basically. Either the TSA or the baggage handlers at a choice of three airports they took my weapon. And it was not in an official capacity. It was stolen.
The Patriot Nurse explains that she packed her baggage to ensure that it was in complete compliance with TSA requirements for luggage generally and, more specifically, for transporting firearms. The theft was not only emotionally hard, it proved to be incredibly time-consuming.

I would want to insist on keeping my eye on my luggage during the entire checking process.
The TSA’s a national disgrace.
They’ll steal your shorts while they’re squeezing your b*lls.
And how many terrorists have they caught while they’re busy feeling up grandma?
While flying back from Chicago I had something stolen from my carry on.....
“I caught a terrorist!”....said no TSA agent, ever.
You can but there comes that point when your bag is put on the conveyor belt and whisked out of site. That’s why some of us don’t fly anymore.
I've had my bills squeezed many times by the TSA.They never managed to steal any of them however. Not yet,at least.
Thieves in Security Attire (TSA)
Theyll steal your shorts while theyre squeezing your b*lls.

I dare them to squeeze my bulls.
Keeping your eye on your luggage is no solution, they have baggage searches in private after its checked. Last flight they opened a jar of jam I was bringing home and did not bother to screw the lid on right. The real question is, did some baggage handler of the TSA stick his grubby finger in my dads gift from my wife for a taste? At least he left me a nice printed note from the TSA to sop up some of the jam.
Consider yourself lucky that you’ve still got the full complement.
gee, and i was upset when they stole a little bottle of blueberry preserves from me
But that is where the solution lies. If I ever flew, I would probably consider bagging my luggage with a private courier than send it through the TSA.
When I have to check a bag I make sure I put a dirty pair of skivvies on top so it’s the first thing they see. I almost always have my luggage searched because it usually has equipment in it.
I’m planning on flying for the first time this year after a twenty year absence from the unfriendly skys. Everything remotely valuable will be UPSed ahead of time. FU TSA.
Checked baggage should have have an Alrline seal on all openings of a bag and locks of said bag. The passenger should verify all valubles and pics be made of said valuables. Signed by the baggage claim rep that received it. If that seal is broken the Airline has to pay the damage. It would actually look better on the TSA or the airline that the bag was lost.
I do not travel with bags any more. Just my laptop which is carry on! What I would lose I can Buy at my destination!
Oh and there is a weapon at both when I get there and when I get back. Home to home is the only destination.
There’s the rub. They pull you out and your stuff is on a conveyor belt just sitting there for anyone to pick. If you resist the pull out of line, then you get the full treatment and your luggage and you will be separated for a long time. The whole thing is to separate you and your luggage. When you finally catch up everyone has had a chance to help themselves.
That's thinking ahead. I fly as little as possible because of these inconveniences.
Courier everything of value or carry on. There may be a cost to you to do that, but you get to keep your stuff.
