Newsmax ^ | 5/21/2013

The tornado-devastated town of Moore, Okla., had complained in February about regulatory delays from state and federal agencies that were preventing it from getting money for its county-wide tornado shelter rebate program.

"The city's safe room rebate program is still 'on hold,' with not a lot changed from our update of last May [2012]," a statement posted on the City of Moore website said.

"Our county-wide Hazard Mitigation Plan still has not been approved by the state and FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency]...

"There were changes to the federal requirements for this plan that occurred while our contractor was writing the document. He has had to rewrite it.

"We've found that the FEMA requirements and their interpretations seem to be a constantly moving target, more so with the new wrinkles. We're still working out various wording changes..."

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Benghazi.
IRS.
AP.
Fox.
Killing Third Graders.
Taking the 5th.
Sibelius soliciting bribes.

It goes on and on, all day long!

FEMA regulations prevented Emergency Management.

Just like the Department of Energy acts to inhibit the development energy resources.

And the Department of Education makes it more difficult for schools to educate the students who want to learn.

Well, well, well....so could the various OK government officials on site please stop fawning over the Federalistas? This must be the Christie Effect taking hold, trying to please the King so he will send a few bucks to rebuild.

‘zackly.

When you choose to live in an area prone to natural disasters, take some personal responsibility for protecting YOU AND YOURS at YOUR OWN expense!

Applies to earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, extended droughts, mudslides, wildfires...

Taxpayers do NOT owe you a tornado room, or a free rebuild of your beach house, or etc.

Actually you have to wonder how much could be achieved locally to all of us if were weren't overtaxed and over regulated. Keep tax dollars local and let the people decide what they want or can afford in their communities.

Hell, I'm angry that federal tax dollars filter down to build and maintain bike trails in my county. Its not the responsibility of you or anyone else outside the area to pay for.
