Throwing a chill into the press … The administration’s latest tactic.

The Justice Department’s monitoring of the AP’s phone records is one of the most bone headed moves of this administration. And to announce it on the heels of two major scandals seems to defy logic. But does it?

The only thing standing in the way of a torrent of whistle blowers, purloined emails and first hand testimony has been the pliant and fawning media. They have ignored blatant falsehoods, obvious phony cover stories and have not followed through on potentially explosive stories such as Fast and Furious. With few exceptions, the established media has been an effective shield protecting those senior level officials who are the motivating forces in this thuggish and deceitful administration. But with the Benghazi hearings and the disclosure of the IRS targeting conservative political groups, that protective wall is crumbling. At recent press conferences, Jay Carney has been pummeled. And the President knows he will come under fire in the IRS scandal.

So how do you stop the potential Woodward and Bernsteins?

Tidal Wave.

Let loose with everything, every day. Overwhelm their ability to respond.

At least that will keep them on their heels and stop them from proposing further disastrous legislation.

I'd recommend that whistleblowers tell the KGB and have the info published in Pravda, anomalously.

What seems to have caused you to excerpt your own blog?

Your idea of ‘pummeling’ and mine are two different things.

From what I’ve seen, the back and forth with him by the press in WH has been more or less slightly insistent. Not even that, more like polite disagreement.

It is nowhere near the abuse this crew (or their fathers) heaped on during Watergate - it was daily, relentless pounding backed up by all forms of print, media and magazines.

If they were really so mad, why would they agree to an invitation-only ‘deep background on Benghazi’ meeting?
It’s like ‘they care’, but the really don’t.

As far as Woodward and Berstein goes, a couple of overhyped underwhelming hacks that got a golden egg thrown in their laps. Woodward jumped the shark a couple of decades ago but still keeps trying to ‘put it out there’ trying to recapture the limelight. At least Berstein knew he’d tapped his fame through luck and has largely kept his yap shut.

ObamaLied's honeymoon lasted over four years. Clinton had one year before the scandles began. Both Bushes and Reagan had about 100 days.

People generally don't like to be lied to or treated like crap.

What usually happens when people realize that they have been lied to, well, they tend to get upset.

The leftists have been so busy watching the right duke it out that they haven't paid that much attention to their schmucky prez planning their own demise.

I can only experience Schadenfreude when it comes to the media.

Maybe, doubtfully, some of them will understand what it is like when the government tramples on our creator given rights.

I no longer subscribe to my local liberal paper (Buffalo News, owned by Buffett) as that is ~~$250 fewer dollars a year they can use against me and the country.

The Buffalo News had the vast majority of their crap submitted by AP so I can only hope this stings those communists a little.

I would highly recommend any Conservative, Libertarian, Tea Party... person stop funding liberal papers and stop watching liberal network and local news.

Why would anyone give their enemies money and viewership rating points?

I think what may be going on here is that the leftist media realize that a choice now must be made. Either protect the Deomcratic party, or protect Obama.

The effect of all the scandals together could relegate the party to the political basement for decades to come.

At some point, and this would be the tipping point, Democratic Congress critters will realize the conundrum they confront, and will want him off the stage. Even before all this, dem pols were going to have to run against some of his policies in various districts in order to get reeleccted.

If we perceive a media turn, then they do too, and that may be the domino that topples the party's support for Obama.
