Walmart ammunition shelves - left side
Walmart ammunition shelves - right side
I stopped in a the Foothills WalMart in Yuma today, to see what was happening with their ammuniton supply.
As you can see, there wasn't much. some 20,16, and 12 guage bird shot, mostly 7 1/2. I was surprised to see that they had a few boxes of 12 gauge 00 buckshot, at $4.67 for five cartridges.
They also had a couple of boxes each of 7mm Remington Magnum, Winchester 270, and 300 Winchester Magnum. The only rimfire that I saw was some .17 magnum.
Raymundo, at the counter, was helpful. He said that they do get ammunition in, but it is unpredictable, and when it comes in, it goes out very quickly. He admitted to holding back a couple of boxes for customers that buy guns. He did not want a customer to leave the store with a gun, and not be able to get some ammunition for it.

yeah huh cause you never know when you will have to fight your way out of a walmart
Black Friday comes to mind.
Same thing at northwest Orlando Walmart yesterday.
like i would ever be caught dead in a walmart
My friend just got his CHL and a new pistol.
To bad he can’t find any ammo. :(
I shop at Wal Mart every week. I ALWAYS go armed, as per my CCP. What I carry varies according to the time of day/night. But I always have extra mags along.
The ammo company’s execs are too risk adverse to increase supply.
That’s how all of our Walmart Ammo cases look here in Central Texas.
They all say come back at 7 A.M and hope some ammo, the ammo that did not accidentally fall off the truck and onto the resale market or did not get parceled out to friends of the Walmart clerks, may be here. I once saw a man who beat me to the store buying the last 3 boxes of 9mm FMJ. I think it might have been a dream because I saw him riding a purple unicorn out of the store. :-S
That is why you take ammo into the store when you buy a firearm there.
My local Wally World had some ammo in the other day. This was at a time when the shelves are usually bare. They even had six boxes of 5.56 NATO.
It was all gone the next day but it seems there was not as much of a rush.
My local Gander Mountain has a lot of 12 Gauge 3 1/2 inch 00 buck. I am looking for the #4 Buck so I did not buy any. They have has a whole range of sizes in 00 Buck for well over two months now. I just can’t find the 3 1/2 inch #4 Buck. Darn it.
LOL - guess that sounds pretty stupid. It could penetrate several walls and kill someone a couple rooms away if you missed.
he he he he he
Ammo, and guns for that matter, got really cheap right after GWB was elected. 9/11 kind of changed things, but for about 10 months everything was REALLY cheap.
Of course I didn’t buy any.
That’s more than all of the Walmarts in my county have.
At least their Walmart stocks guns...
Similar empty shelves with only heavy rifle ammo and shotgun shells galore in local Wal Marts here in Mid West, same response from staff on sporadic arrivals and instantly gone after a few hours. Local Bass Pro Shop is loaded with shotgun shells, entire shelf full including various 00, 000, etc. buckshot loads for defense, gun shelves there wiped out of course. Local Cabela’s normally 30 foot glass case of stocked handguns now down to 4ft spread, magazine aisle wiped out, ammo wiped out, and for the first time in years — signs with customer limits on boxes of .22.... which aren’t there.
