If someone today argued for laws to legally bar interracial marriage that person would universally be labeled a bigot.
But in 1967 when the U.S. Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia struck down state laws prohibiting interracial marriage, 73% of Americans still supported them. Did that mean that more than 70% of Americans at that time were bigots? No. But there certainly came a time that you were one if you continued advocating for such discriminatory laws.

If you’re against Bloomberg’s gun restrictions, you are also anti semitic.
Straw-man argument. God did not say, “White-skin folk shalt not marry Brown-skin folk.” That was a fake construct of American racism (by politicians for whom more than a few were having their own white-on-brown affairs on the side). He was thoroughly clear on His position on homosexuality.
That’s a good line to have.
Racist.
Bigot.
Terrorist.
Anti-semetic. (that’s not spelled right...)
I’m so proud of myself.
Behavior is not ancestry.
Homosexuality, transvestism, lesbianism are all behaviors, and sick o es at that.
BINGO!
If it makes me a bigot, so be it.
I’m proud of you too. :)
The left has won the war by defining the terms. People are so afraid of being called names ( perhaps this persists from childhood trauma) that they will agree to anything. Bigot, homophobe, fascist, right wing extremist they all mean the same thing.
I would argue from a semantics perspective that according to merriam a bigot especially refers to someone who is hateful in their prejudice. From my point of view discouraging gay sex ( marriage or no) is actually a loving stance as opposed to a hateful one. Gay men and women face health problems, depression and a shortened life span. If we really disliked these people wouldn’t we be encouraging sodomy and lesbianism?
Call me a stickler...I’m a bit particular about the equipment.
You make a grave mistake when you joke about this. The people in the gay mafia are the bigots and bullies. They attack religion and specifically the Christian religion all the time and the mainstream media sits by and smiles. If we don’t turn the table and show them for the bigots and bullies that they are we will lose, not because of them. We will lose because we didn’t have the courage to tell the truth. I don’t care what the Supreme Court says. A gay man could never have replaced my mother. I have just begun to fight.
I believe that marriage is
not just a bond but a sacred bond
between a man and a woman. I have had occasion in my life to defend marriage. To stand up for marriage. To believe in the hard work and challenge of marriage. So I take umbrage at anyone who might suggest that those of us who worry about amending the Constitution are less committed to the sanctity of marriage, or the fundamental bedrock principle that it exists between a man and a woman going back into the midst of history, as one of the founding foundational institutions of history and humanity and civilization, and that its primary, principle role during those millennia has been the raising and socializing of children for the society into which they are to become adults."
No. Will you be CALLED one? Fer sure!
First thing is you don’t let the left set the language of debate:
There is no such thing as “gay marriage” - just because they choose to call it “marriage” doesn’t mean it is.
Sexual relations between members of the same sex is wrong. Period. Giving them a “marriage” license doesn’t make it less wrong.
I’m never going to accept two dudes living together and playing in their own poop as anything remotely constituting the grand, thousands-year-old institution of marriage... the cornerstone of civilization.
Any government or individual that argues otherwise will never get my allegiance or my respect.
Are you an anti-Christian and anti-Semitic bigot if you think opponents of gay “marriage” are wrong when they cite Scripture?
So Im a bigot. Big deal
Exactly...so what?
