Diamondback Police Supply, the gun dealership that was to sell the AR-15 type rifle to Mark Kelly, Gabby Gifford's Husband, has returned his money now that it has learned that he did not intend the rifle for personal use.
Here is the statement:
Statement of Douglas MacKinlay, Owner/President, Diamondback Police Supply Co., Inc.
While I support and respect Mark Kellys 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible manner, his recent statements to the media made it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer M400 5.56mm rifle from us was for reasons other then for his personal use. In light of this fact, I determined that it was in my companys best interest to terminate this transaction prior to his returning to my store to complete the Federal From 4473 and NICS background check required of Mr. Kelly before he could take possession this firearm. A full refund was sent to Mr. Kelly, via express mail, on Thursday of last week.
The Sig Sauer rifle will be donated to the Arizona Tactical Officers Association where it will be raffled off to generate funds the association can use to purchase much needed tactical equipment for the organizations members. The A.T.O. A. represents the SWAT and Special Response officers of the states law enforcement community who regularly place their lives on the line to protect the residents of this state.
Additionally, Diamondback Police Supply will make a $1295.00 contribution (the selling price of the M400 rifle) to the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program that teaches children, in pre-K through 3rd grade, four important steps to take if they find a gun. The emphasis of the program is on child safety, something that is important to all of us and at the core of the current debate on gun control, stated Douglas MacKinlay, Owner/President, Diamondback Police Supply Co., Inc.
It is nice to see a gun dealer stand on principle and refuse to be a pawn in political games designed to infringe on our Second Amendment rights.
It is an added bonus that a contribution will be made to teach children gun safety.
Kudos to Diamondback Police Supply for their defense of our Constitutional rights.

Seems to me that Mark Kelly broke the law in attempting to play the role of straw buyer. He also would have had to lie on the form where it asks if you are buying for yourself or someone else.
Tell his to stop killing baby seals!
Kudos to Diamondback Police Supply for their defense of our Constitutional rights.
I second that! I've been seeing more and more gun shops and manufacturers standing up and fighting back against the forces of tyranny. Well done!
Oh, yes. Grabby Giffords and the Astronaut,
Wasn’t there an astronaut involved in some kind of bizarre scandal some time ago?
Kelly’s attempt to curry favor with the left fell flat on it’s face. Not to mention the shenanigans with the gun purchase, his daughters deadly weapon(a pitbull(I think)) misfired and killed a baby sea lion yesterday and Kelly had to pull the dog off.
Stick a fork in him...he’s done.
Now the public’s used to liberals getting their hands caught in the cookie jar, and making all sorts of efforts to extract themselves. If you gave me the above list, me, as a member of the general public would probably make the assumption that the gun shop did something wrong and is trying to make up for it, not that it was the victim of attempted fraud (and grand larceny.)
I respect the idea that the gun shop has here, attempting to embarrass a liberal into maybe doing some right things himself. I really do think that there's no chance at all that this will work, and probably harmed their image in making such gestures in the eyes of the public as a whole.
He should have kept the money and turned over the 4473 to the police, for felony straw purchase reasons.
I sure don’t see it the way you do, what, anyone that does the right thing or takes a stand is trying to cover something up? You need a better class of friends
Well, there was some crazy astro-woman that drove hundred of miles in diapers over some issue in her love life. That kinda twitches my bizarro-meter. Maybe that's the one you're thinking of.
Yes! That issue was another astronaut, I think.
I think you’re right; that sounds familiar.
