Turkish PM: Thanks for the apology Bibi, but not good enough

Diplomatic failure in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan

Obama’s only diplomatic achievement in the Middle East has been to make Bibi Netanyahu bow down apologize to the anti-Israeli Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, as reported here yesterday, How do you say “Apologize For What?!” in Hebrew?

Knowing the insane anti-Israeli venom we have seen from Erdogan in the past, it was obvious that he would not be appeased.

And indeed, within a day Erdogan has announced that the apology both was a victory for him and not enough to restore relations between Turkey and Israel.  It also was viewed as a sign of Israeli weakness by Hamas, which is cheering the apology.

Via Jerusalem Post:

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that despite Israel’s apology over the IDF raid of the 2010 Gaza-bound flotilla, it is still too early to drop the case against IDF generals accused by Ankara of being responsible for the death of nine Turkish activists aboard the Mavi Marmara, Turkish newspaper Today’s Zaman reported.

Erdogan said Netanyahu’s apology satisfied Turkish expectations when he used the word “apology” instead of “regret,” but that it was still too soon to fully restore diplomatic ties and appoint new ambassadors, Turkish daily Hurriyet reported….

Just knew this was going to be the response. Bibi should recant at once. Avigdor Lieberman was absolutely right.

This is what happens when you try to be a better man to feral animals.

Fine. I say to Bibi, continue on. They only seem to know violence and death...so give it to them.

Too bad Netanyahu actually put some faith in what the current occupant of the oval office said.

Looks like the practitioners of the religion of peace will never tolerate anyone who doesn’t belong.

Bibi must know what the headchoppers are like. He must have known that they would spit in his face. He apologized anyway, like a gentleman, knowing that the bearded savages would reject the apology.

does anyone trust that the obozo hussein, muslim to muslim with Turkey, didn’t plan the rejection just to embarrass Bibi thus subtly demonstrating his control over Israel? Strictly ego driven of course.

Avigdor Lieberman was absolutely right.

You're right. Liberman calls Turkey apology a ‘serious mistake’ . Why isn't Lieberman part of the new government?

If he’s smart BiBi rushed to make that call, knowing this would be the result. After all this just emphasizes Obama’s total failure at foreign policy. Bet Kerry is urgently trying to talk turkey, to Turkey even as I type this.

I wish the Israelis had intervened far off the coast, which could be as simple as running heavy duty fishnet in propellers or putting a .50 cal AP round through an engine block. There are many ways of disabling a ship at sea that does not immediately sink it. Or sinks it so slowly that there is more than enough time to evacuate all personnel, if not cargo.

To add icing to that cake, hire a boat from a neutral country to offer them aid by towing them to a neutral port, or the authorized Israeli port.

Both of these would have been a lot cheaper than the military intervention they used.

The neo-Ottoman Turkish regime was NEVER going to accept anything from the Israelis, as they do not even recognize the existence any more of the political entity known as Israel on their maps. So far as the Islamistic government of Turkey is concerned, the Jewish inhabitants are squatters on what they see as Muslim territory, and the only solution is to drive the Jews into the sea.

As soon as the disagreeable situation in Syria is resolved (by the execution of Bashar al-Assad and installation of the Muslim Brotherhood), the Muslim nations of the Middle East will proceed with their avowed intention to drive the Jews into the sea.

That worked so well for the Pharoah of Egypt, when he pursued the Jews, led by Moses, to the shores of the Red Sea, with the intention of annihilating them once and for all.

Read the book, but we already know how that strategy worked out.

Certain of it, in fact (and perfectly described).

Erdogan is his BFF.

"....I think the most distressing aspect of Diehl’s defense of Turkey as a reliable American ally is the fact that he says its leader has become one of the few foreign leaders with whom Barack Obama has a strong relationship.

Obama has, according to the Post, spent more time speaking on the phone with Erdogan than any other ally. Indeed, in a cover story interview with Time Magazine, Obama told a fawning Fareed Zakaria that Erdoğan was someone with whom he had become friends and forged “bonds of trust.”"

It speaks volumes about the deplorable state of American foreign policy that Erdogan is someone with whom Obama is most comfortable.

Lieberman is branded “extreme far-right” by the self-destructive liberals in Israel, so they won’t want him in until it’s almost too late.

The Zionist Entity’s head Jooo! still has a shred of self-respect left. When he gives us that, too, it will still not be enough. Perhaps if he physically offered me his butt in public?

Hamas will regard Zero as beneath contempt for facilitating this. But that's at least accurate.
