All political power is inherent in the people, and governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, and are established to protect and maintain individual rights. This language from the Washington State Constitution failed to impress one city councilman from Oak Harbor as he demonstrated the petulance inherent in liberals by walking out of a January council meeting because one of the attending citizens was legally armed. (1)
At issue was a 2009 lawsuit filed by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) against the City Of Seattle for having broken state law by placing a ban on the carrying of firearms in city parks. A 3 decade old Washington State Preemption Law makes it illegal for jurisdictions within the state to pass any ordinance which conflicts with state law. As the State of Washington declares it legal to carry weapons in state parks, the Seattle ordinance against that law is illegal...

Many of these so-called violence-concerned public servants and erstwhile wannabes are exactly the same type of people who in 1930s Germany required Jews to wear that little yellow star, and later lined them up against a bulldozed ditch and blew their brains out. History? Maybe...but one only has to google for the Chinese Government’s latest reenactment of these same excutions.
Armed citizens get their 2nd amendment groove on.
I am daily in fear of the federal government, their goons, unconstitutional laws, and “mandates” such as Obamacare. We have failed, as a society, according to Jefferson’s quote, “When the government fears the People, there is liberty; when the People fear the government, there is tyranny.”
It’s a very simple quote, but the power of the message cannot be understated. We are no longer a free people.
Oak Harbor, the “big city” of Whidbey Island.
I hope they have the sense to remove that parasite from office.
If you think like that, you aren’t free.
I learned the lesson of the ‘Democrat’ back in 1993/94 before Republicans took the House. I remember watching CSPAN which was about a vote in Congress over some Abortion-Rights protest penalty for right-to-lifers who wanted to try and convince prospective ‘mothers’ of the evil they were about to do.
The bill was specifically about Penalties for interfering with, protesting against, and interacting with ‘patients’ at a prospective abortion ‘clinic’. The penalty to be assessed was 5 years prison and/or $250,000.
Some perspective. This 5/250K penalty is the same penalty one gets for say, committing treason and divulging classified information to anyone not authorized.
I vividly remember House Republicans pleading, begging, crying during ‘discussion’ to convince Democrats that what they were about to do constituted all the same sorts of ills we attributed to Nazi Germany just decades before then.
Democrats were unfazed. The vote proceeded and the measure passed. It was exactly then I realized just how evil these co-Americans (supposedly) are.
In reality, these people work their lying magic and manipulation of idiots by giving them money they don’t earn and granting them ‘status’ they don’t deserve, only in return for a single vote, maybe more.
Democrats’ legacy is over 50 Million murders of unborn Americans, untold infringement on our Founders’ intentions, and a complete disregard for all that is good and just and the foundation of this once-great country.
It is completely rational to deduce that they will go the way of all their evil forebearers (Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Idi Amin, et al). Evil incarnate.
One could also say if you don’t, you are deluding yourself.
I graduated from high school there a number of years ago. It’s a pretty big number.
For those who are in support of taking the guns, you need to ask yourself a very important question, and I am not just talking about the politicians, because if you support them, you have chosen your side.
Are you willing to die to take my guns?
MOLON LABE
Typically the Germans made their victims dig the ditch but your point is well taken.
No one is ignoring that fact; but if you are a defeatist go to the back of the line.
I haven’t been through there for a long time; I’m sure it has grown some.
One of the dress wearing turn coats, put forth a "Motion" to "Declare an Emergency" so as to change the local ordinance, and to take effect immediately.
Low and behold, after finding out that they could be successfully sued, the "Motion" passed, and the new ordinance, passed and took effect immediately.
I said aloud while in the "ante room" of the council chamber's, does the council member use any "10 dollar bills?" I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to use an object that has the picture of a person who suffered "Gun Violence." For those of the Outcome Based UN-Education, Alexander Hamilton, was shot dead by Aaron Burr, sitting 3rd Vice President of the United States, on July 11, 1804.

Shortly after 7 o'clock on the morning of July 11, 1804, [At Weehawken in New Jersey] Burr and Hamilton met on a dueling ground in New Jersey, across the Hudson River from New York. It was the exact spot where Hamilton's eldest son Philip had died in earlier duel.

Additionally, Hamilton's son, Philip, was killed in a November 23, 1801 duel with George I. Eacker, initiated after Philip and his friend Richard Price engaged in "hooliganish" behavior in Eacker's box at the Park Theatre. passed, and the new ordinance, passed and took effect immediately.
