"RINO" has reached its end: "Republican" is better. They are all Republicans.

Agree.

Which is why I no longer call myself a Republican.

I am - and will always be - a conservative.

Rove and his ilk can shove it.

Now that Hollywood is an offical branch of the government, they all have to sell their souls to Satan- to become rich and powerful.

They are all the government.

There is no difference between Republicans and Democrats- and the truth is, there hasn’t been for a long time.

We are all the audience of a great on stage drama.

The problem is that not all republicans are the same.

I prefer DIABLO, Democrat In All But Label Only. Today’s Republicans are yesterday’s Democrats, and today’s Democrats are socialist statists. Seriously. Most of today’s Republicans would have fit perfectly into the Democrat Party of the 90’s, maybe even later.

I've said for a while that I fear that Rove and gang are the real Republican Party which is the Big Government Party version 2.0. Freedom lovers and those who believe in Constitutionally limited government are the Republicans In Name Only until we can find a new home.

Reagan and Coolidge were anomalies among Republican presidents. The true Republicans are Hoover, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Bush and Bush - big government, but not quite as quick as the Democrats want.

If you look at the history of the GOP the author is correct. The conservatives carried the party from 1980 to 1988. More often than not they have been the party of the elite and privileged.

The current cropwill sell us out in a second if it benefits their position. They shift to the right when its election time. Any candidate that displays a conservative opinion in off election cycles is quickly thrown overboard. Once demonized they lose any support from the establishment.

I am a RINO (and proud of it) simply because Will, Rove, et. al. are not. My registration is Republican, and I think the best approach is to work within the two party structure, but I am a conservative first and foremost.

I’ve been saying essentially the same thing. It is us conservatives who are actually “republican in name only”, because the party has left us. The republican party is essentially the statist, status quo party of crony capitalism. They differ from democrats merely by degree and the speed they’d like to implement their statism.

Anyone need any more proof the GOP is nothing but the Judenrat for the MarxoFascists?

If Conservatives want to survive - they better get away from these creeps pronto.

For many years they were known as Rockefeller republicans, today I just call them Romney republicans, Romney seems to have been the strongest identifier of rinoism since the Rockefeller days.

Perhaps your abandonment of the abbreviation RINO runs the risk of oversimplifying a major set of opinions.

If so, let us set the terms aside for a while, and focus on our goals.

IMHO , the worst “Goal” assumption is contained in the “Buckley Rule:” Support the most Conservative Candidate WHO CAN WIN.

The Gop-Elite IN the Party chose Dole, McCain and Romney. All lost, and all were not clear about what it was that they were trying to CONSERVE.

If one is going to play Basketball, then there had better be a lot of air in the ball, AND NO LIBERAL PATCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The enlarged letters are for effect: People IN the Party are usually wrong about how people OUTSIDE the Party will vote.

Dole, McCain and Romney were supported by the powers that be in the GOP BECAUSE THEY COULD WIN!

_______

The second point is the “Me Too” mentality of the GOP Elites who want to compete for the Democrats pool of Big Government voters.

Hence, the GOP has moved so far to the left, that the bulk of the GOP is far to the left of JFK Democrats of 50 + years ago.

Without clear distinctions, the GOP will continue to be the fat kid “Big Tent” wanna-be Democrat that nobody will play with in the Schoolyard playground called The US Federal Government.

The last point is the “Inertia of Stupidity.”

Ignorance is when one has not learned something.

Stupidity is when one is mentally unable to learn something.

The GOP Elite try to lose big every 4 years - - - maybe they have learned that losing is a lot easier than winning?
