I’ve been saying essentially the same thing. It is us conservatives who are actually “republican in name only”, because the party has left us. The republican party is essentially the statist, status quo party of crony capitalism. They differ from democrats merely by degree and the speed they’d like to implement their statism.
Yep, I’ve been saying this for years. Conservatives are in the minority in the Republicrat party.
