News Alert: Economy Shrinks in the Fourth Quarter, 2012 unexpectedly, of course.
What? I thought we would be in the middle of a massive Keynesian recovery by now; thats what swept Big Guy to reelection, right?
I guess the the economy in retrograde is good news for Senator Mary I am not going to keep cutting the discretionary budget, which by the way is not out of control, despite what you hear on Fox News Landrieu, however.
Although it looks like we may have a bigger problem than Fox News, this latest economic report does clear the way for Mary and her fellow Dems to increase discretionary spending. After all, unemployment checks and food stamps are the only arrows they have left in their quiver to stimulate the economy.
"It is the biggest bang for the buck when you do food stamps and unemployment insurance. The biggest bang for the buck," Nancy Pelosi, 7-06-10
This fallacious-on-its-face recovery technique is known by various names around the globe. The European style model is called the Broken Window recovery; closer to home its known as the Retail Therapy Recovery
And although you may not be smart enough to understand how this works, your betters (Nancy Pelosi, Valarie Jarrett and Paul Krugman) do, so dont worry.
Do you know what the economy could really use? A few more Hurricanes like Sandy to break a few more windows.
If youre still not convinced, the highly esteemed publication, The Economist explains how using other peoples money for things such as the Cash for Clunkers is an excellent way to stimulate the economy. (Let the record reflect that the CFC effort cost taxpayers a modest $24,000 per clunker at the same time reducing our collective carbon footprint!)
(snip)Butt heck, theres no need to be Debbie Downer today weve already moved on from the economy that was so reelection 2012!
Weve moved on from the economy (as well as the War on Women, Fast and Furious, illegal Executive Orders, illegal recess appointments, Benghazigate, etc., etc.) to Immigration Reform. Its the most important item on our plate right now, because thats the minority voting block we need to put more Dems in Congress at the mid-terms.(snip)
Hey! Watch where youre pointing that thing, it might be loaded...
Yes but Keynesian aside. For zer0bama, shouldn’t it be KENYASIAN?

Dems Tout Claim: ‘Best-Looking Contraction in U.S. GDP You’ll Ever See’
Democratic party communications director Brad Woodhouse quickly began spreading the word on Twitter:
Paul Ashworth at Capital Economics called it The best-looking contraction in U.S. GDP youll ever see. wapo.st/VnIaCt
There is no other economic reality that is more disruptive to our economy than this.
Hey Cletus
Y'all got room down in Texas for two more?
After 15 yrs of me wanting to flee IL for the freedom and beauty of Montana or Wyoming(1) the Mrs finally said about a week ago, 'What the hell are we doing in Illinois. Let's get out of here!'
And I'm already set with my 'Texas clothing'. Been wearing Boots for 30+yrs (Tony Lama mostly) and after 10 yrs my Stetson is now 'nice and worn in' :-) The Texas heat is the only thing I'd have a problem with and why Montana and Wyoming were my previous choices.
(1) I like the weather in Montana, it's better than the Chi area, but now its got a real bad drug problem with Meth, and the Libs have bought all the nice land that was once affordable. And looking further at Wyoming, I'm not crazy about the apparent lack of Cable as all houses had TV antennas on the roofs! ugh. Plus the home construction isn't exactly to my liking in Wyoming. The houses are big & roomy but built... 'weird' (wouldn't pass Chi Bldg Codes).
Texas has room for plenty. Dusty is pinged ‘cuz he’s out here too. I have yet to connect with him.
You are spot on about the TX heat but, out here in West TX, we have a winter season that stays cool. Last night got to 29F with today’s high around 55F. Our elevation (2300 ASL) means dry heat, too.
Down-side: West TX is in a boom right now so housing is over-priced and finding living arrangements is difficult. Crime is on the increase but tolerable - not much violent crime for obvious reasons.
Up-side: Very few metrosexuals and concern trolls; they’re all over in Austin and don’t travel outside out of fear! Plus, because of the lack of liberals, TX has a dove hunting season (they aren’t emotionally protected as cute, cooing birds that represent “peace”).
East TX topography is closer to the Midwest as is the summer humidity; better fishing out there ‘cuz there’s more water.
Our youngest daughter and her fiancée have mentioned - in passing - about going to Texas. She's a Certified IL Teacher, K-9, but hasn't been able to get an actual Teaching Position here in DuPage County. So I think she's seen a lot of full time Elem School Teacher openings in Texas but I don't know where at.
So maybe there'll be Four of us coining down to Texas :-)
Or actually five, my M-I-L. The nicest MIL one could ever ask for and I couldn't leave her up here in the IL cesspool all alone.
We can solve the house pricing issue by pooling all our cash/assets and buying one of those 'Texas Compounds' those NYers talk about so much [aka 'A Ranch' to normal folk ;-)]
Keynesian economics makes sense in the big picture when there is one centeral bank. Print money it goes to the economy some shape or form.
Today where it fails that no one talks about, there a bunch of central banks that are playing each other. If they all don’t play the same (which they don’t) then when one prints money, the other takes.... China in our case.
What a screwed up plan from ground zero.....
