An article was recently posted on FR about CAGV and their anti-2A agenda and proposed legislation. Amongst other things, their proposed ideas include a AW ban of 1 military style feature, limit mags to 7 rounds. No grandfathering, bans possession and sale. Handguns would require a yearly background check, annual fee and three year safety inspection. I have saved their full proposal here:
I had never heard of the group before, and decided to do some research. What I found was shocking, but unsurprising.
First, on Dec 14, while the bodies were still warm, they posted the following in their website: "...As we mourn those lost we must also raise our voices and call on our political leaders to finally begin a serious, in-depth discussion on how to prevent the nonstop flow of gun violence that plagues our nation..."
Secondly the state of CT is holding four hearings on Sandy Hook and school safety according to Sen. Kissel's website.
However, the CAGV only lists two of the state hearings. The hearing on gun safety and the final hearing. They purposefully are ignoring the school safety and mental heath issues. They are also hosting the "March for Change" Valentines day.
I leave you with a statement from the exec. director of CAGV from the original FR article: "Extended delays will endanger the passage of the type of gun violence prevention measures that will make our communities safe, Pinciaro said.
None of that will get guns out of the hands of violent criminals. And that is their intention.
Get in their faces and let `em have it.
Why let the freedom loving American Citizens of Illinois have all the fun?
Go, be accurate, be rude and enjoy the screeching of their fear and confusion.

Right don’t think about it -pass it yesterday !
Another emotional outburst , not a lot of logic or thought !
An agenda already written , pushed by the media , designed to create more victims !
The issue isn’t the firearms ~ its the people who are on psychotropic medications .
Letter I wrote to the local paper:
Hi Paul,
Got your letter. Will run next week. Thanks, Jill
Dear Editor,
In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy where a mentally disturbed person, inflamed by Hollywood’s violent porn, illegally acquired fire arms and committed an atrocity, anti gun groups are exploiting the emotional pain to violate the Second Amendment constitutional rights of innocent citizens.
The most radical proposal comes from an outfit called Connecticut Against Gun Violence which advocates that “assault weapons, would have to be destroyed, turned over to police or taken out of Connecticut” along with other punitive measures that would not have prevented Sandy Hook. The ring leader, Ron Pinciaro, executive director of CAGV. incorrectly sites the Supreme Court case Heller vs DC, in which DC’s hand gun regulations were overturned as too restrictive, as justification for turning thousands of legal gun owners into criminals.
Gun control advocates peddle the delusion that confiscating guns will make society safer when the fact is that gun ownership reduces crime. The slogan: “When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns” is truer today than ever. Not to mention, the framers of the constitution saw the need for an armed citizenry to offset the tyrannical power of the state. Confiscation of property is a tyrannical act. After guns, what’s next?
Mental illness and evil are responsible for gun violence. Liberals should get back to us when they have a plan to combat the true root cause of Sandy Hook.
People who value individual freedom and Second Amendment rights have every reason to despair while living in blue state Ct. The Democrat party has elected itself to power by buying a permanent majority with the income tax and is now poised to trample our constitutional rights by confiscating private property. Ct is in a death spiral and has reached the black hole state of hopelessness.
There is no future for freedom loving people in Ct. To paraphrase Horace Greeley, go south young man, go south.
