One of the important things to work with is the problem of having a registered weapon. We have already seen addresses of gun owners posted, we may see this escalate nationwide.
I had one registered rifle, I say I had.
But its still in a database somewhere and eventually someone will come around asking, or a neighborhood mob will.
I think Obama is whipping up a mob frenzy and is working to get the anti-gun crowd bold enough to do the job for him, thats my prediction for 2013.

Not so fast ...
"Them" includes oath-breaking agents of the IRS, DEA, HHS, Marshalls service, Secret Service, State Police, local police, county sheriffs, and others ... including National Guard and regular Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps. Some will disobey orders ... but not all.
Worse, "They" will also have working for them a very sophisticated and almost ubiquitous propaganda machine composed of ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, PBS, and numerous newspapers large and small.
Don't underestimate the enemy.
Pitting these two forces against each other would be travesty, a disaster, and allow common criminals to run rampant -> chaos -> anarchy. The nation-wide economic disruption/losses, property destruction, and human death toll would be staggering.

Many of those pushing for gun control are only thinking of where they can lead us, where we are determinded not to go. They are ignoring at their potential great peril if "we" are in range of their fire, "they" will be in the range of ours as well. In the end, they can be compelled to go where they do now wish to go. This is not a one way street once they push it beyond a certain point.
Additionally, a huge portion of their "army" of supporters is composed of fools, slackers, and ignoramouses. That rabble (mostly unmotivated by anything except what they can steal or smash) might be terrific for comprising a mob to burn some places down or intimidate, loot, and murder some innocents,... but not so great for long term.
These budding tyrants - so long having had their way and lusting to destroy our God given rights for their own evil ends - have lost the perspective of where an outrage as fundamental as this can go. They are moving beyond simply stealing our money and bankrupting this country. That was and is bad enough. But now they are after our very life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
A raging fire - once burning out of control - consumes all before it and is hugely unpredictable. I suspect their ideological blinders are keeping them from seeing that or else many would not be so foolishly fanning the flames of destruction and mouthing assent to it. Or, maybe they just imagine they can easily get away with it like they have everything else...?

An ancestor of mine was mustered out into his local militia on April 19, 1775. He was one of the first to arrive at Concord Bridge and was wounded in the leg. On being helped from the field toward home, he met two of his brothers (about his age) and three of his sons heading toward the ongoing battle.
He never recovered and died of his wounds three months later. His beloved wife died on the same day as he did. He was 67 years old.
So, don't discount the additional numbers of vets (and other patriots) who fall outside this age group but still are willing and able. If it ever comes to the test in that awful time, many of us will be in the battle as well. They are the modern day Lobsterbacks and despicable Tories. We have nowhere else to run, nor do we wish to do so. This is our home and our country.
If 67 wasn't too old for our ancestors, it isn't too old for many of us, either.
