When I was in college, a buddy of mine interviewed with DoD and was dismissed when he confessed to having tried illegal drugs.
I briefly worked for DoD and met a woman who had tried them without endangering her ability to get a clearance.
So yes, I wondered if the standards were kept high for white men but not for others.
