UPDATE - KEY News has learned as many as 600 Santa Barbara Bank & Trust employees working at branches from Ventura to San Jose will lose their jobs. Three hundred fifty of those workers are from the Santa Barbara area.
The layoffs are part of the consolidation between SBB&T and Union Bank.
An official with Santa Barbara Bank and Trust confirmed to KEY News Thursday morning that employee staff notifications are underway.
KEY News has learned that the notifications started going out Wednesday.

“so it was just really sad”
Kinda like the whole State of California.
Death spiral state.
I was in Santa Barbara last weekend....not sure how a bank teller can afford to live there..even with a job. Maybe they live over the hill. But what a gorgeous place.
I’d feel a whole lot worse for them if I weren’t fairly sure they voted for Obama.
Obama voters.
well, as long as upper management got their six and seven figure bonuses, things are swell.
Yep, they voted for this.
That’s the way liberals do it.
They scream against any kind of “discrimination”, but they keep their areas exclusive by making is impossible for anyone who isn’t wealthy to afford anything - in a lib area, everything is taxed to death, and wages and products are artificially inflated by government controls and restrictions.
So those without cash and not on the gravy train are excluded from the paradise.
Wouldn’t bother me (it’s the way of the world) if the snots who lived there weren’t screaming about giving the poor their “fair” share all the time, the hypocrites.
