Civil war may come to America
The Examiner ^ | November 19, 2012 | Jeffrey Phelps

Posted on 11/24/2012 7:51:21 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Americans were stunned last week, coming to the startling reality that citizens from all 50 states, hundreds of thousands of signatories, thus far, have petitioned their state to secede from the union, with at least seven states, as of Sunday, having the 25,000 signatures necessary to, supposedly, officially force a White House response.

It's not something many Americans want to think about, or be forced to come to terms with, however. To think the United States of America would ever be in a position of having to deal with multiple states having enough citizens to attempt seceding from the union is about as unthinkable a reality as imagining Hitler coming back to life and continuing on with his plans for a “New World Order.”

What's more, what would have to be happening in the country that would make so many Americans feel compelled to make such a desperate decision? Could it be as simple as conservatives and libertarians not being comfortable with a man of color being in the White House, the most commonly pushed idea.

Every American that pays even a little attention to politics knows there is a fairly deep divide among Americans with regard to political philosophy. After it became evident that Obama's promises of hope and change were not actually going to be fulfilled as was once promised and as it becomes evident that his administration's primary goals were to create bigger government with more and more regulation and control, the divide between the left and right in the country has no place to go but further and further apart. Entitlement and personal responsibility have never been at greater odds and conservatives and libertarians couldn't be more uncomfortable about the circumstances than they are today...

I agree, and that’s as far as I can project/guess. After that, all bets are off.

Matt, do you have a link to your piece on how the end will play out? I thought I had the link, but I can't find it, and I would like to re-read it.

There is nothing extreme about secession. Ask the Ukrainians and Georgians. You are the status quo extremest.

Won’t have to be secession by any particular group of states.

Wrong, the states are set up to run as independent countries. You need to learn history.

“Problem is, one side has 2,500 of these on order and that’s just FEMA!”

Good. Then we’ll know where to get them for ourselves!

“Fiddle-dee-dee! War, war, war; this war talk’s spoiling all the fun at every party this spring. I get so bored I could scream. Besides... there isn’t going to be any war.”

Scarlett O’hara, “Gone with the Wind”

hehe. Nice. I forgot that little quote.

Those marches proved to me that war was inevitable as there were a few million people marching on DC and yet the lamstream media showed nothing and the polidiots didn’t even respond. We have no voice in DC.

Thank you for going to those. I didn’t, but I did help pay the way for a few others to get there.

“The Gov’t has the edge in disrupting communications”

They do? They’re the ones that need massive amounts of communications just to take a dump. We don’t. We built all the communications systems, they just use it. If anyone knows how to distrupt anything it is the people that built it.

“Putting aside the fact that a million pop guns are useless against the U.S., “

They’ve got the same “popguns” that we’ve got. So, what’s your point? I mean, we’ve got over 100 times the number of popguns they got.

Those who sign the petition are now on an arrest list.

All 1 million of them?

Total federal prison population currently 1.2 million. So the Feds are going to double the prison population over e-signing a petition?

Have you seen such a list? Didn’t think so.

too soon to think Civil War II. BUT, If Obama oversteps himself and tries to take away rights or guns or what ever—it may well become a needed thing. IF it should we, the people, should be ready with a plan: A new Constitution on the ready, A new Set of laws, and newly designed currency and flag. The new nation must seize atomic weapons and be ready to end Washington/New York with Atomic fire—if they wish to be free.

“The opening salvo of this war will be fired when the Obama Administration tries to take our 401(k) accounts and roll them into a government controlled annuity.

It will get violent at that point.”

They already are. It’s called “Quantitative Easing” which is a fancy term for printing money. The Feds are inflating your savings away. With home values already destroyed its the last thing on the checklist.

Another great quote is attributed to Trotskey during the Russian Civil War in the 1920s:

"You may not be interested in war, but war is very interested in you."

According to Free Republic anti-secessionists they are just being silly.
