This is EXACTLY why the Republicans lost last week. Because Americans of darker skin tone (Black, African American, whatever the nomenclature is for today), see Republicans as the "party that's just about money". Democrats have rewritten the policies to make folks believe they are against racism, and sexism, and classism. It's beyond ludicrous, it's... well, they've gone plaid.

Just infuriates me to no end that folks don't want to actually read and understand what each political party stands for, and vote accordingly.

I read this article. The black authoress, Renay Alize insists that everyone sees the world through her own racist glasses. At the end of the article, she writes this bon mot:

I like to talk about race with non-ignorant people. If those people happen to be white, great. But more times than I’d like to remember, some white folks have been completely oblivious to what it means to be a minority in this country. How many times have you heard a white person ask, in all seriousness, “Where is White history month?” or state “I don’t see color.” or “Black people are always pulling the race card.” Statements like that will cause you to look at a person you once liked in a whole new, unfavorable light. My son used to be a pre-loader for UPS. The pre-loader would pull packages off of a line of moving packages and run them into a UPS truck. They have to move fast to do the job correctly. The people of color would sometimes break out into song and dance ignoring the packages going by. It used to really tick him off because it made more work for him. According to this article, he should have just accepted it as part of their culture.

I will say there are plenty elements about black culture and heritage that a lot of white people know very little to nothing about. And since we don’t have time to educate all of the world’s ignorant, there may be so behaviors we don’t exhibit in the presence of those who just might not understand.
