Walmart posted their Black Friday sale and they included this Savage 12-Gauge.
At that price I would certainly get this shotgun. But Better get there early. Wal-Mart always has limited stock on hand for get in the store items.
That looks like a Benelli Supernova to me..
I am not familiar with that gun but that sounds like a great deal.
Savage quality has varied a great deal. Around 1900 they were first class. By the 60s the quality was going down. still decent guns but finish was mediocre. They got even worse then maybe 10-15 years ago, quality began to improve and continues to do so.
At one time I would not have wanted one of those stocks with the extended pistol grip. Since my arthritis has gotten worse, I discovered I could handle a shotgun a way better with the extended pistol grip so now that is what I want.
There is a Winchester defender with a synthetic stock and extended pistol grip near my bed. It is my go to gun for the middle of the night. I would rather have several other guns but that Winchester is tactically equal to any of them.
Everybody good is in Germany, Israel, Italy, or the East Coast of the US, as far as popular weapons go. (Yes, I know about the Iron Blok stuff, I just ignore it for now.)
This particular one? I have no clue as to how well it is manufactured. The overall concept of the weapon is good. Savage makes good stuff, generally.

I don’t like pistol grips myself, but the price seems good. I got a Mossberg 500 with the pistol grip only stock. It was used, in great condition for $125. I ditched the pistol grip and got a Hogue Youth Model synthetic stock for it and now it is a very short, handy 6-round HD 12GA that takes 2 3/4” and 3”.
I tried one of those shotguns with a pistol grip and no butt stock. The recoil was vicious.
Some people do like them but not me. I like the pistol grip but it also has to have a butt stock.
I’ve handled that model - it seems heavy for its size. The Mossberg 88 is bit lighter, so I got it instead at Academy on a normal day for 189. I avoid black Friday.
I have always had guns with traditional stocks so the pistol grip just feels too different. At this price it would still be a good deal if someone wanted to change stocks.
Slide is way different.
I have that Mossburg 500 as well...have an issue with my shoulder and figured a waist fired would be a nice choice.
I dunno...for an extra $100 you could pick up a Mossberg 500 Security.
As you said, you get what you pay for and God forbid if you ever have to use it, you only get one chance.
The price on that shotgun is great. I don’t know how good these Savage shotguns are. I have a Mossberg 500 which was reasonably priced and sufficient for my needs.
I checked Walmart’s black Friday deals...the website does not appear to be accurate because I know for a fact that a couple of the AR models I search for can be found in my local store right now, but were listed as unavailable on the website.
Anyhow, I would check around with a lot of other online dealers, there should be some great deals coming up.
I have noticed some small increases in prices for ARs since the election. I was going to buy a S&W ORC for $677 + $100 manufacturer discount, but they have now raised the price to $750...still a good deal, but I am little miffed because I could have saved a few more dollars.

At that low price, I figured maybe it was a Stouger clone. Stevens makes a clone of the Ithaca M37; however, that shotgun ejects rounds out the bottom and this looks like it has a side port like 870s & Mossy 500/590s.
I frequent the Shotgun World Forum a lot, and did a quick search. Although it is inexpensive, the feedback seems to be that it works fine.
I would suggest that you stick to good ammo in it, some of the less expensive pumps (like the 870 Express) have problems with 100 round ammo packs like the Winchester Universals.
I prefer to do ALL my shopping at

There's always a sale going on!
